Great deli. Quick service, fair price and quality ingredients. Portions are ample, bread fresh.

Yum!!! My husband and I stopped in for sandwiches while we were staying in Mahone Bay. Both were delicious and on freshly baked bread. We also got some delicious Toblerone peanut butter cheesecake. Everything was so good that we ended up going back to get some dinner– lasagna, chicken samosa, spanakopita and some fresh baked cookies. Again, everything was delicious. HIGHLY recommended for if you are in the area.

Great place. They have about everything and it’s all good. Plan to stop here if you are near by.

Stopped here after a coffee in the village while walking the waterfront, bought a bag of pears and asked where the washroom is. The clerk said«we don’t have one». Yes a bold faced lie, perhaps a stock response to non-paying customers but it shows just how clueless businesses can be. I’ll never set foot in Jo-Ann’s Deli Market again.

Friends and I stopped here on our way out of Mahone Bay. The outside is cutely decorated for fall, and they have outdoor seating. Inside, while on the small side is packed with goodies, from gourmet pasta to nice looking jams, fruits and vegetables, a deli and a dessert counter. I personally didn’t buy any dessert(rare for me) but I did try some of my friends purchases and they were yummy! I will defiantly pick some up next time I am in town. What I loved most was the sense of community, the store workers knew customers names, chatted with them, and they even have a tab system. Rare in this day and age.

A valuable store, stocking cheeses, meats, etc. that might otherwise be difficult to get from the Save Easy down the street. It’s closed during the winter, however. They also have a good selection of baked goods. They stock croissants from Julien’s, bread from Boulangerie La Vendeenne, and desserts made in-house. An impressive selection of produce during the summer. Most of it resides under the awning outside, where you can also grab a table to sip coffee and snack on a fresh blueberry scone. Tourists can pick up items like Nova Scotia maple sugar and jams with logos of the«three churches.»

Too bad this fantastic food emporium is only open from May until after Halloween. It’s awesome. Filled with local fresh, organic, fruit and vegetables as well as free range meat, chicken and eggs, glorious baked goods and tons of deli delights. I love everything about it., from the friendly staff to the glorious imported ingredients like olive oils, vinegars, chocolates and so much more. And if you’re really looking for a photo opportunity, then go just before Halloween when the whole town is gussied up with the coolest scarecrows and other fall decorations. Jo-Ann’s always stops traffic.
