After arriving in Lunenburg and eating lunch we decided that we wanted to take a tour of the town and what better way then in a horse drawn carriage. The tours were easy to find. They were lined up right beside the wharf so we walked over and loaded up. The tour took around 45 minutes and was very informative. We snaked along the streets of Lunenburg hearing stories about the town’s history and of the different historical buildings we passed by. Our tour guide was very informative and pretty funny as well. The ride itself was very comfortable and relaxing. The carriages only have a few seats but you have a good amount of room inside which is nice. The seats were soft and comfy. They also had blankets in case we got cold. We had a great time and would definitely recommend these tours for anyone going to Lunenburg.

This is a seasonal horse-drawn buggy tour of the Old Town of Lunenburg, which starts down by the waterfront, near the Fisheries Museum, and wends its way through the Old Town. I’ve been on the tour a few times, once as a tourist and again a few times taking people around the town, and it’s a great way to see and appreciate the architecture and history of Lunenburg. The horses seem very well cared-for and most of the tour guides are excellent. I believe it costs about $ 20 for adults and the tour lasts nearly 40 minutes. Terrific value for the money and the horses are lovely!
