This store fired a woman who reported a man for being cruel to a dog, leaving it in a hot car. That was a manager decision. If you go to this store you are rewarding this manager for making a woman unemployed for doing the right thing, you are encouraging the quashing of human will and the harm of animals. Not that you should go to Walmart anyways, they aggressively send jobs overseas and work to hurt the very communities and economies they make their money from.

I would give this location a minus five out of five, had it been possible. Why? Let’s face it, it’s one thing for a manager to fire someone over trying to halt a criminal act taking place, but for the head office to shrug it off? Guess what, Kemptville Walmart? Your head office just screwed you even worse by defending you. If a crime is being committed, you use the proper channels to report it. Proper channels means law enforcement. A store manager is not law enforcement. Tell you what, I’ll remove this review when I hear things have been PROPERLY remedied. This will include, but will not be the only action needed, the head office donating at least one million dollars towards animal safety. Reassignment or appropriate training of the local manager(s) involved should probably also be considered. Good luck with your animal bakery!

I am thoroughly disgusted by the attitude and callousness of the manager of this store and his superiors who have actually defended his actions in firing TWO employees because they reported separate incidents where dogs had been left in hot cars in this WalMart’s parking lot. The management should be apologizing, not defending these bullying tactics.

This is the WalMart with a manager who fired an employee for reporting a dog that was left in a hot car! And his actions were defended by head office! No shopping here for me.
