I’m so torn. I want to give them a 4 star rating, but I can’t quite do it. Overall, the restaurant is very clean and well kept. The décor is kind of upscale country. The location overlooks the river, so this would be a nice spot in the summer when the patio is open. We were there early, just before Christmas, and got one of the very few tables that wasn’t reserved already — so, if you really wish to eat here, either show up early/late or phone ahead, especially during busy days/seasons.(While you are reserving, specify you want a view of the river!) Out of the 4 of us, I was the only one who felt a bit unhappy with the meal. I had the crepes. The cheese was over-powering, and the chunks of chicken were too big to give an enjoyable feel in the mouth. A milder cheese(to better match the mild sauce, or less cheese, and smaller pieces of chicken would go a long way to improving what I ordered.(I was disappointed.) I took one home and reheated it the next day with some mild onions, and it was really enjoyable. We did also try the poutine, which was good, but tasted like it perhaps was a chicken based gravy. We enjoyed that. Hubby had the special, a roast beef wrap and loved it. Daughter had a salad and ate it all(so it must have been good). My son had fish & chips, and of everything that I tasted, that was the home run item, and what I will order if we go back. I’m going to mark them«good for groups» — but more than about 8 or 10 people, you’ll find you are spread out, either between rooms, or between booths and tables, I think. Would I return: Yes Would I recommend: For the Kemptville area, this is a great spot.
