I’ve got relatives in the area and having spent a ton of my youthful summers here, I’ve always got fond memories of the Canadian Tire here. It used to be in downtown Kemptville and we’d go in to get carpentry supplies, summer beach toys, and knock-off Converse Chuck Taylors. It’s as comforting to the memory as Map-O-Spread on toast. The store has moved but nonetheless I still find myself going there all the time. It’s a fantastic place to browse and I usually find something there that’s on sale that I have to have(last trip was a Lexmark printer with a PDA included). With the proximity to the Rideau River and canal system, they are also fully stocked with fishing gear that will help you kill off a day without much bother. Better include in that a beer cooler. Also in stock. Keep in mind as well that the staff are truly knowledgeable and if you happen to be hungry, you can find a chip wagon at the other end of the parking lot. What’s not to love?
