What is there not to love about this part of the Dalhousie campus? Year-round, there is someone doing something fun here. In the summer, it may be sunbathing, Frisbee or tight-rope walking. In the fall, tons of orientation events(often with freebies!). In the winter, it’s snowball fights, snow forts and the occasional snowball fight.

Don’t let the whole«Dalhousie» portion of the quad title keep you away; this green space is perfect for any lone wolf or group of cronies to hang out and relax on a warm, balmy day. Nobody will know you’re not a student if you saddle up flower side to enjoy this grassy knoll. You can listen to student’s conversations as they pass by, fretting over an assignment or having drank too much the night before, or else take a nap and tune the world out with the academic buildings keep you safe within their ivied walls. Sometimes there are BBQs on the lawn or games of Quidditch and frisbee, electrifying the space with student competition. I like to sit on the bench in the middle whenever I’m passing through and just look out over the campus, enjoying the often blue skies and the lush, manicured lawns. Oh Academia, how lovely you can be…
