I was craving some Mediterranean style food on campus and thought I would give this place a try. the only reason I am giving this place 2 stars is because I thought that the garlic potatoes were quite nice. Otherwise, it was not a good experience. To start off, it took them an incredibly long time to prepare the order. I had the chicken shish tawouq sandwich and I found it to be very unsatisfying. First of all, who the hell puts rice in a shish tawouq sandiwch??? This is definitely non-traditional and not pursued for a reason because it is downright disgusting in my opinion. The rice was extremely bland and only made the sandwich very starchy. The chicken was cooked just fine and the rest of the filling was quite standard however this sandwich had no flavour ATALL. Mediterranean food is typically very fragrant with lots of garlic, lemon zest, salt etc. The garlic sauce was very dissatisfying as well. This is a dal food choice that I will not be pursuing any time again.

I’ve been meaning to stop by the 3 Cousins truck for awhile but am not often up on Dalhousie’s upper campus. Yesterday I happened to be and I pounced on the opportunity to try it out. First I had to ask if they accept Dal cards because I had almost no cash on me — and they do! I asked for a recommendation about the menu and one person working told me his favourite is the M3C Chorizo Sausage, but I was more in the mood for a chicken shawarma so I went for that. It was all ready to go and I was told that they’re so popular they make them in batches ahead of time. It was raining out so I asked for something to protect my shawarma, and they had a plastic bag just the right size. When I got back to my desk I unwrapped the still warm shawarma and although I don’t think it would break any world records for deliciousness, it was really well wrapped and great care had been taken to make sure the pita would stay un-soggy even though it was made ahead of time. The hummus inside was good, the lettuce was crisp(and not iceburg), and the bits of pickled turnip were nice and small so they blended in with the food rather than overwhelming it. For under $ 6 and a very pleasant couple of people working on a rainy day, I’d go back for sure.

Trying to buy your lunch on the Dal campus is like trying to buy lunch in the middle of the desert, it’s not good. I had the falafel the other day, mainly because the prices beat everything else around and I like falafels. This one was«different», it was huge but surprise it had French fries in it. And the dressing tasted more like caesar then tzatziki… so it can’t go on the great falafel list. The big yellow truck is at the top of University Ave across from the Killiam library. PS: It’s managed by Dal Food Services
