«Here is your cup of coffee. Have a great day sir!» That day, I decided to grab a cup of coffee from Second Cup for probably my first time. I took a sip and it was a disaster. Yes, the coffee was warm but it was not tasty! Over that, I had payed more than what I pay at Tim Hortons or McDonald’s. Plus, you have to drink 50 cups of coffee to earn 1 free coffee WHEN you have to drink 7 coffees in McDonald’s to get the 8th free. So, I don’t think I’ll get my coffee from here. Yes, everything else is good about this place, but the coffee is unaffordable according to its taste.

I’ve experienced better. I grabbed a cup of iced coffee. The sugar they had has no taste at all no matter how much you’ve put. The coffee had less taste of coffee and more taste of milk mixed with sugar. I can make better coffee at home. It was my first time :( No doubt their staff is very kind.

Good options.. Friendly service. reasonable prices.. Love their sparkling green tea lemonade.. I always order one when I feel that I’ve over indulged in food. I like Their banana bread when it’s fresh. so if you are in the mood for something light. go there

You know… I do enjoy second cup, the one in Dartmouth Crossing is excellent. And this particular shop is also good. I ordered and had my hot beverage when I left. Prices on par with other places of the same type. What is there to complain about? Seats out in the middle of a mall just aren’t my style, which is why I usually get it to go. Which can be great when you are careful while perusing the stores at HSC.

This is your Starbucks of Canada. When you can’t find one. Nothing to brag about since I really only drink regular coffee. But what confused the heck out of me is where is the half and half? They have 4 different carts of milk crates on the cooler I don’t know WTF is what. This lady tried explaining to me but I was like whatever. Also, their medium is like a small.

I usually stop here for a cup of something steamy and deliciously caffeinated whenever I visit Halifax Shopping Centre, and I am rarely disappointed. Their consistency is generally pretty spot on I find, and have only found otherwise on one occasion. The lattes are especially good, especially around the holidays when they introduce a lot of new and wonderful flavours. My favourite at the moment is the gingerbread latte, not too sweet with just the right amount of flavouring. In the Fall, their pumpkin spiced lattes are also delicious. If coffee’s not your thing, they also make decent smoothies(which they call«chillers»). I’ve had the Strawberry, Chai, and Frrrozen Hot Chocolate flavours, and they were all quite tasty. The staff are always friendly, and the service fairly quick also, even at busy times. This can also be a great place to pick up a present for the coffee lover in your life, particularly around the holidays, when their gift stock at least doubles in size. Among other things, they sell boxes of coffee and tea, chocolates and other sweets, coffee accessories such as chocolate-covered stirring spoons and travel mugs, and much more. Also, they have cookies that are almost the size of my head. That is always a bonus in my book.

There was a time when professional demands required me to be at the Halifax Shopping Centre more frequently and for longer periods than I would normally be. It didn’t take me long to suss out the best option for my mocha habit. The Second Cup makes a very nice cup o’ espresso ‘n’ steamed chocolate-y goodness, and they have an extensive menu of other beverage options including some lovely seasonal drinks. I knew I was in the right place when the rad barista behind the counter turned out to be in one of my fave local bands … and the mocha was hot and spot-on. It’s never going to be my java joint número uno(I just don’t venture to the mall that much), but I would recommend the Second Cup to anyone shopping for a good cuppa!

I love a big cup of something hot and I love to try different flavors. I particularly enjoy a hazelnut blend. Most times on my way to work, I will put up my generic Tim Hortons. If I’m in the mood for a treat and perhaps a specialty coffee, I will stop at The Second Cup. The Second Cup is a little bit more expensive, but well worth the money when you’re in the mood for a good, strong shot of expresso! The staff are usually quite friendly as well. I am a big fan and will continue to sip on the lovely assortment of coffees The Second Cup brews.
