It’s really hard to not like this place. I mean they jump at you with samples of whatever you want to try, and then you build your own frozen yogurt dessert. You can’t mess this one up. It’s fool proof. I’ve been a couple times and the first time I went a little overboard with the toppings. Let’s just say it got a bit expensive. This time I was a little more conservative with my topping selection. I had the coconut milk flavor and the Oreo as well. So good. I tested the strawberry shortcake kind too. I think that was my favourite, but for some reason I didn’t pick it. They’re always super friendly and patient while you test out whatever you want. This place is a no-brainer. They have every topping you could ever want. The space is really small, that’s the only thing. Not very comfortable to stay and eat your frozen masterpiece. It’s more like an IN&OUT vibe.

Do you watch Seinfeld? Did you see the episode with the fat free frozen yogurt, that they can believe its fat free because its so good? That’s how I feel about Goji’s :)

O. My. GASH. I’ve had cravings for froyos since my first experience back in the spring of 2014. I thought there was only Cherry Berry, Menchies & Yeh… but NOPE(haha see what I did there?) I missed a spot on spring garden. Having disliked both Yeh & Cherry Berry but having loveeeeed Menchies, i was ify and a liiiiittle nervous about trying Gojis. So my friends and I walked in… at first, it’s a little disappointing because the toppings bar seems small(and these are the best part of your froyo masterpiece). The girl was extremely friendly and gave us samples right away. I went with the vanilla, chocolate and oatmeal cookie froyo and it was delicious(check for good tasting base) onward to the toppings! :‘D there’s the typical berries and bubble tea bubbles but what I like about these toppings, they had all the makings for a great piece of art. Skor bars, whipped cream, coconut shavings, sprinkles, cookie dough, chocolate syrup… it was less variety but what they had was great. nice squishy squashy chairs with vibrant colors. However… the only thing I didn’t like… the rewards program… it’s not a card… a key or some sort of wacky coupon thing. You give them your phone number every time? Idk that’s sounds sketchy to me.. .. .. . I’ll have telemarketers calling me left, right and center by the end of my froyo.

This was my first visit to Goji. Having had frozen yogurt at Menchie’s and Cherry berry I have to say this is probably the best froyo I’ve tasted in Halifax. I love the fact they have gelato and sorbet options. I got the peach gelato, blueberry acai, and coconut almond milk froyo. The peach gelato was«peachy» and creamy. The blueberry acai was sour, which balanced out the creamy gelato. The selection at the topping station is smaller than other joints. One complaint: the girl(I think her name was Emma?) who was there doing the sampling cups was not up to standard. Besides the obvious lack of enthusiasm she actually was grumpy when we asked if we could have the sampling cups(we thought she was there to hand them out). Dear Goji, you would’ve gotten 5 stars from me but you need to train your staff better.

This is what is going to happen when you walk in the store: 1. You will notice how the space is divided in two, and admire the cute accessory shop that Goji is sharing the space with. 2. You will cautiously move over to the frozen yogurt bar and examine the 10 different flavours. 3. You will start dispensing 3 – 4 flavours into your cup, carefully estimating how heavy it is going to be.(you know. like bulk barn or freak lunchbox) 4. You will be pleased with your estimation, and walk towards the cash… when… 5. You notice the topping bar… and you add fresh strawberries, kiwis, gummy worms, nuts, coconut, chocolate drizzle, cookie dough, sprinkles, brownie bits… 6. You choke a little at the final price, but pay anyways 7. You enjoy the best(and most expensive) frozen yogurt you have ever had. 8. On the next sunny day you happen to be walking down town… You go back… Thinking you will be able to control yourself this time. 9. You repeat this list.

Great service, great vegan selection, great toppings. The almond milk frozen yogurt is delicious and they offer tons of vegan toppings as well, including fruit and nuts. It’s self-serve and has a great atmosphere. A little pricey but still delicious none-the-less.

yeeeeeeeah. Peanut butter is hella creamy and the frozen almond milk flavour is super accommodating for lactose and vegan friends. A major favourite.

The frozen yogurt craze is in full swing in Halifax as Goji’s is one of a few places opening or already open that focus on frozen yogurt — with more on the way. Admittedly, I was never a big ice cream person but when I did want a frozen treat, I preferred soft serve. With Yeh!, Cherry Berry and Goji’s within my reach, frozen yogurt has quickly moved up my list of preferred treats as they all offer many different flavours of soft-serve frozen yogurt. With three already open in and near downtown Halifax with Menchie’s still to come in March, it’s hard to stand out but I think Goji’s has been doing a fantastic job with their community involvement and creative methods of advertising themselves. A few weeks ago, they had a 1 free hour of frozen yogurt after reaching 1,000 ‘likes’ on Facebook. When they hit 2,000, they’ll have a 2-hour period of free frozen yogurt. And so on until 10,000, when they’ll have a free weekend. Their flavours change regularly as well. My favourite tends to be vanilla unless they have their cheesecake one, which is usually reason enough for me to go. Their toppings section isn’t as wide as Yeh! but they still provide the standard selection of fruits and candies. I usually opt for anything with peanut butter and chocolate, such as broken peanut butter cups and Reese’s Pieces. Ultimately, for me, I think Goji’s benefits the most from its location, right in the heart of Spring Garden Road but really, beyond that, it’s a great dessert destination.
