History

Established in 1986.

In 1986, Greg Smith had completed his cross Canada cycling trip and established a custom frame building operation on the Halifax waterfront near Pier 22. Demand for repairs and upgrades soon led to the establishment of a retail location above his father’s former Insurance company on Quinpool Road.

The Dartmouth location, opened in March 2000, was closed and merged with the Halifax store in January 2010 to provide better service to all our customers. The 6112 Quinpool Road showroom and warehouse have expanded over the years, just down the road from Greg’s first location; all the bikes, and service experts are together under one roof, providing you with a one stop location for all your cycling needs. In November 2014 we moved to our new home — 2553 Agricola Street

Business Owner

Started working at a bike shop in 1983, was hired by Greg Smith (original owner of Cyclesmith) as a mechanic in 1994 when the shop was expanding and moved to 6112 Quinpoool. Worked for 5 years at the shop, then left to follow my «schooling» as an accountant and HR for 7 months, and in late 1999 returned to Cyclesmith as a Co-​Owner
