Chebucto Inn

Clean & very affordable hotel just outside of downtown Halifax. Not a brand new hotel, but it’s the best price if you want to stay in downtown. It’s also very clean, so even though it’s not new you can tell that they do their best to keep it that way. It feels like a family run hotel, and you can tell that they are slowly updating the rooms one by one. The staff were super nice and helpful.
We did not eat at the restaurant, as it was close enough for us to go into downtown.

This is a hidden gem in a beautiful neighborhood in Halifax. We got a double with really good beds and great pillows. Brand new flat screen TV, comfortable armchair, intimate restaurant and bar attached, beautiful new spreads, immaculate room. The best value in Halifax with extremely nice and knowledgeable staff. Wanted to give it five stars, but afraid no one would believe me.

Very smelly and dirty rooms as well as the ownership is not very friendly (for lack of better words they are jerks) I do not suggest going here and wouldn’t do so again.

The Chebucto Inn is a family owned hotel located in the North End area of Halifax, near Jenny’s Pub.
Having visited this restaurant several times, the food is usually pretty good as well as the service. On this day, I went to the restaurant to celebrate my Mother’s birthday and I ordered the grill chicken sandwich and fries while Mom had the scallops, fries, and Caesar salad.
We ended up waiting about 25 minutes for the food which was the longest I could remember in the 6 or 7 times we visited the place; however, this could have been because a husband and wife were there with 3 grumpy kids and nothing seemed to satisfy them.
The food was not bad this time around, though I probably should have ordered the pasta or fish like I usually do when I’m there. I have also heard that they have a good breakfast menu there which I hope to do in the near future.
Still, the prices are very affordable and the place is usually quiet and this provides for an intimate atmosphere.

Great breakfast for cheap.

Never stayed here but The restaurant has some great food.
