My wedding dress was shaping up to be a problem. It was short and simple, from a little boutique in London, and I fell in love with it. When it finally arrived, it fit like it had been made just for me. Great! Fast-forward close to a year and thirty pounds later, that adorable dress drooped off me like it had been made just for She-Hulk. I asked around and friends shook their heads. Take a dress in six sizes? Not possible. I mess around with a sewing machine sometimes, and so took it out again for closer inspection. How bad could it be? The armholes, the bust and waist darts, the neckline, the waist… oh no. It was so close to the wedding that trying to find and fit another dress was going to be next to impossible. I started calling every tailor I could find and hit on Daniel’s shop just off Spring Garden. He chuckled when I told him what had happened, and although he couldn’t give me a quote without seeing the dress, I had a good feeling when I hung up. He had taken the time to reassure me, where all but one of the shops sounded frustrated and annoyed as I asked questions to figure out whether or not I needed to start hunting for a new dress. Daniel was friendly, outgoing and funny, and he made me feel so much better before he’d even touched the dress. When I took it in to the shop he assured me it would be just a few simple alterations. When I tried it on again, the dress looked exactly the way it had when I first bought it. It fit me like a second skin and I was so happy with it. Daniel looked at my shoes with the dress and gave me a few ideas for jewellery and hair. I felt like a princess that day, in part because of Daniel’s excellent service and the beautiful work he did. If you’re reading this Daniel, thank you!

I was so impressed with this place when it came to altering my wedding dress. Daniel was friendly, professional, and did a fabulous job taking it my dress. When I asked him about adding a belt, he offered me some cheaper alternatives which saved me a ton of money and looked great. I would absolutely recommend this place for any bride-to-be. He made the entire process stress free and the dress fit like a glove!

I have a stack of jeans I don’t fit into anymore. I’d lost a lot of weight before I’d discovered I had Celiac disease, and I am a different shape now. I abstain from sugar, wheat and dairy, so gaining back the 30lbs I lost is a useless endeavor. That being said, there are no jeans made on earth that will fit my five foot nine, 110 frame. If I were shorter, maybe I’d buy juniors jeans. I digress. I took my favorite pair of jeans to this fellow, who tailors wedding dresses and such. When I picked them up, I went to the Park Lane washroom to put them on. I was so tickled I ran back to tell the nice guy who tailored them into basically new jeans for $ 20.00 «Thank You!!!» I thought I would have to throw all my jeans away, or frustrate myself trying to gain weight downing coconut oil and eating 2 avocados a day(plus a 3000 calorie intake per day) but no. Now I can have them all tweaked at a fair price. Thank you Alter Ego: j
