Before the days of places like Twisted Yogurt and Tutti Fruitti I would have completely agreed that this place is beyond 5 star wonderful. Since I was a young whipper snapper, frozen yogurt has always been my fav frozen treat(I vaguely remember driving my mom nuts about buying me a frozen yogurt every time we were in the mall — I also remember not going to the mall that often, or at least avoiding the ones with the stand — coincidence??). Now, unfortunately when I have Yogen Fruz I usually end up disappointed(or just completely discouraged as is the case after my last few visits). The prices are reasonable but the portions are huge so I usually end up throwing a good portion of it out :( Went here a few weeks ago to find a sign that said back in 15 mins. We did some more shopping and came back about half an hour later — no one! Waited around another 15 mins to no avail — finally gave up and ended up at Tutti Fruitti on Whyte. Not a good start! Well, I gave it another chance about a week ago — this time there were 3 people working so no issues there. Now here’s where we have a problem — I am a little irrational about my hatred for those little fruit seeds you get in yogurt or smoothies(so strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, etc are all out — LOVE all fruit when fresh but those seeds just get on my bleeping nerves!!). I am very conscious of this when choosing a flavor so when I saw maraschino cherries(my ultimate fav topping/flavour) — boy oh boy was I excited! Well that lasted until I took my first bite and got a mouthful of little bitty seeds — UUUGGHHHH!!! Not sure what the procedure is for cleaning out the machine between yogurts but in this case it was clear that I had residue from the previous order in my yogurt. 1. Kinda gross — not guna lie — not knowing when the last order was made — 2. SEEDS? — AHHHHHH!!! Sadly this would likely be a last resort for me in the future — although I am sure, due to convenience, I will find myself at the little kiosk once in a while.

I LOVE love LOVE Yogen Fruz! There are only a few of them I have stumbled across in town… So whenever I’m at Kingsway Garden Mall… We hit them up! I love that you get to pick your toppings of fresh frozen fruit to be blended into the Frozen Yogurt! Does it get any better than this? The ONLY reason they get 4 stars instead of 5… I wish the price was a little lower… but still oh so delish!

Well I don’t know about you but I love frozen yogurt and I always get the raspberry flavored one. I love every thing raspberry and refuse to try anything other kind. I went with my mom to Yogen Fruz located in the newly renovated Kingsway Garden Mall. Well, you know what flavor a got! My mom, the wild and crazy person that she is, got three different flavors(raspberry, pineapple, and kiwi)… she is so brave. Well because I’m terrified of change I kindly asked her if I could try some of her yogurt… it was really good but nothing compares to the simplistic flavor of the raspberry. On the other hand, I went to the Yogen Fruz located(in West Edmonton Mall) with Curtis and he got the chocolate almond flavored frozen yogurt. Well I have to say it was very good. It was almost better than my plain raspberry yogurt. It also had sliced almonds sprinkled over top of the chocolate frozen yogurt and it even had chocolate bits inside of it. If you love chocolate this is the flavor for you. Oh and don’t forget to try the raspberry one!
