I miss this place and sorry to see that most locations have closed. Thank you for all the wonderful childhood memories that involved chocolate mousse royale, jamoca almond fudge, and the best one of all, mint chocolate chip!

I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream! I scream for ice cream at Baskin Robbins not just because it’s awesome, but also because it’s expensive! Oh well, it’s a treat after all. I had to stop with my daughter for a tasty treat this past week. The ice cream clowns they had in their display case stopped me in my tracks. They were so cute — ball of ice cream with icing for a face and an ice cream cone of the party hat — and a definite possibility for her birthday party. My favourite flavour is peanut butter chocolate, delish. But it’s hard to choose from the selections. I feel like a kid again trying to decide between bubble gum and tiger!

Can you really go wrong with any ice cream? It has been a childhood favorite treat, and it still is today. As much as I’d love to think my tastes have sophisticated, I’m still drawn back to the simple flavors. Even when it is cold outside, I still find myself craving some ice cream. ‘Strawberry Cheesecake’(cheesecake flavored ice cream with graham cracker pieces and a strawberry ribbon) is also a good choice, and the cheesecake flavoring works well. I also enjoy their ‘Pralines ‘n Cream’(vanilla ice cream with praline-coated pecan pieces and a caramel ribbon). They usually have 31 ‘traditional’ flavors that are always there, plus seasonal specials. If you cannot decide, do not hesitate to ask for samples. If you’re still stuck, stick to the traditional strawberry, vanilla, and chocolate flavors and you can’t go wrong!

Even in the middle of a cold Edmonton winter, I still love my ice cream. Baskin Robbins is a great place to curb your ice cream craving. They have a bunch of yummy flavors to choose from. And if you can’t decide what you want, they have itty bitty little spoons that they use for samples so can try a few different flavors before making the imperative decision. Then you choose a regular cone, a cup, or a waffle cone(there are a few different waffle cones to choose from). Myself? I’m a classic regular cone kinda girl. I was a little disappointed the last time I visited this Baskin Robbins because they didn’t have any Tiger Tiger ice cream. But I forgave them and had scoop of Butter Pecan instead. I’ve never had any of the beverages — smoothies or shakes — from Baskin Robbins but I’ve heard that they are also quite delicious. They only thing I don’t like about Baskin Robbins is that they don’t really have a set up for ordering. You walk up to the counter and wait to be helped. The staff just walk up to who they think was there first and serve them. This can get frustrating when they are busy. In this case, you just need to speak up and get your order in. Baskin Robbins — yum yum!
