For the most part, the Daily Grind is the same as the Java Jive that used to be in the same space. Same coffee, same treats, plus some new menu items(Vietnamese coffee, and a variety of gluten-free snacks). Friendlier service too :) This is my favourite place to get coffee on campus, as there aren’t many non-chain options on the west side of campus. PS — the other non-chain option is the Undergrind, which is in the basement of SUB, and sells those Cram Dunk donuts I’ve been missing!

Too bad there is no zero star rating, because I had their gluten free chocolate cookie and it was the worst thing I have tasted in my life. If only I were exaggerating. I would rather eat pork intestines and I normally would rather not eat pork intestines.

The Daily Grind is the first place I stop when I’m looking for my caffeine fix on campus!(When don’t students need a caffeine fix?) It’s very affordable and there’s a good selection of beverages and snacks. My absolute favourite drink is the London Fog. It’s the perfect comfort drink for cold days or for when you feel like you’ve just bombed a test. The line can get a bit long especially in the mornings, but it usually moves quite fast. The Daily Grind isn’t always fully stocked though. There’s been quite a few times where I’ve ordered a beverage only to be told that they don’t have any of the stuff for it… Sigh. But there’s always lots of coffee and loafs. I highly recommend stopping by The Daily Grind while on campus. The best part of it? It’s owned by the Students Union, so all the profits come right back and benefit university students! What’s not to love about that?
