I really wanted to like this shop, we live relatively close and have been waiting to try it out for a few months! We went based on good reviews on here, and I am so disappointed. My bf and I both got donairs, and a medium pizza. The pizza was okay, bf didn’t like the crust, he said it tasted fake, i didn’t mind it too much. Now to the cheese donair, first of all mine had a HAIR in it! There was barely any sauce, the tomatoes and lettuce were not fresh. The meat was the best part, it was great but the rest of the donair was not, especially when I found the hair! My bf got the super cheese donair, he hated it. He said he could barely taste the sauce and cheese, and they added onions to his when he asked them to skip them when we first ordered our meals. The pita on his was stale and fell apart when he went to take all the onions off himself. We gave this place a shot, and unfortunately will not be returning, we will stick to World’s Finest Donair on jasper ave.

Having only been in Edmonton for three years, I’m still pretty green when it comes to donairs. I have attempted to address this by eating at as many donair shops as possible, though I haven’t even made a dent in all the northeast part of town has to offer. Stadium Donair has likely seen me more often than any other place because my husband is a huge fan – and it’s the closest, most decent shop. Admittedly, Stadium Donair hasn’t been visited by an interior decorator since the late 80s/early 90s, and there usually are newspapers strewn across each of the tables – but underneath it all, the place is clean. I wouldn’t come to a donair shop because it has nice curtains, but if such things are important to you, I guess you can always go somewhere else and pay $ 12 for a disappointing meat roll-up. The gentleman we always see behind the counter is from New Zealand, and he is friendly and attentive. After taking our order, we like to watch him lovingly craft our donairs. If we’re the first people to order in a while, he’ll shave off the dry meat on the outside of the spit. I haven’t seen this done in many donair shops, as it obviously costs money. But you won’t be getting any dry, crusty meat in your donair, either. Speaking of meat, these guys don’t mess around with it. If you order something with it, you are getting a lot. The donairs are packed so full that you could likely make another meal from all the meat that will fall out of the one you’re eating. It’s not limited to donairs, either. I once had a caesar salad that was 75% chicken and 25% lettuce. Their sauces are tasty, and their vegetables are always fresh. My husband and I rarely take our food to go, preferring to let our excitement build as we read the free dailies and wait on our food. The few times I’ve taken our donairs to go, it was practically torture waiting to tear into all the deliciousness contained in the carryout bag.

The guys in here are friendly and fast, and the prices are reasonable. But mostly — the donairs are great. The meat is flavourful and not dry, the pitas are soft, they stuff it with veggies. I usually get the tzatziki instead of garlic sauce, and they don’t drown it. This is our go-to donair spot, but always for take-out, not eat-in.

Great tasting donairs. Burgers dont have nice patties. Poutine is awesome. Service is good. Place looks dirty and does not have air conditioning. They have leaflets of menus that advertise delivery but when i phoned they said they dont do delivery.

Went here for dinner on the weekend after an exhasting 3 hours of snow shovelling. First off, access to this restaurant is difficult because you can only get here if you are travelling north on 82nd street or east on 112 avenue. Forget about any other way. The restaurant itself is quite large, with several tables. I found the place to be not the cleanest, in term of floors and newspapers all over, but other than that it was okay. And it really doesn’t have any atmosphere. This donair shop has a very limited menu compared to similar restaurants. And it closes fairly early. I wanted to order a soup, but the guy said he didn’t have any. I guess if you come late at night to eat, they stop making certain menu items. So I ordered a super cheese donair. It was $ 9.75 and huge. It was loaded with meat and veggies and tonnes of cheese. This was the best cheese donair I’ve ever eaten because I actually tasted the cheese in it. Most places are so skimpy on the cheese that you never taste it. Not here. I’d actually give Stadium Donair a 2 out of 5, but because their super cheese donair was so damn good, they’ll get a 3 out of 5 from me. Come here only if you are craving a killer cheese donair. Other than that, forget about it.
