My boyfriend and I eat here all the time and it never disappoints! Definitely our favourite phở in the city :)

Meh, I was really disappointed when I went here for phở. The broth wasn’t great at all, it tasted bland. I’m willing to try it again but it’s not on my good list at the moment. Service was great though.

Was my favourite phở place, still good but last time I ate here the broth was different and not as good, kinda flavourless. Hopefully it was just an off day because I love this place. Try the salted plum soda, the bun bo hue and the chicken phở.

This place is good. It’s good because it’s consistent. This place is crazy at lunch though. Lots of people that’s for sure. But that’s a good sign of course. Nice, fast and clean. Just the way I like my phở restaurants.

This is a pretty reliable phở stop for me. I know sometimes it can be a hit or miss here depending on the day and time. I am not sure why. This visit I had a rice vermicelli bowl with grilled pork and spring rolls. Pretty tasty and it hit the spot.

I have been here a handful of times and have had good experiences. I came here with a friend the other day to have some phở. I ordered the number 10(beef brisket and meatballs) and it was delicious. The beef brisket was tender and the meatballs were juicy and the broth was flavourful. My friend ordered a vermicelli bowl and she also enjoyed her meal. Our order came fairly quickly with the exception of my Vietnamese coffee. For that reason and for the price, I would not recommend getting a Vietnamese coffee here. It was a rather small serving for the $ 4.50 that you pay for it. Other than that, my craving for a delicious phở on a cold day was fulfilled.

I normally love this place and have eaten here over a half dozen times at least. But during my last visit(this past Saturday night), with three other adults and a child, we all came home with food poisoning later on that day and the next. Yup. So makes you wonder what their sanitary conditions are like behind the scenes. I’m sad that this happened because this was my go-to place for phở cravings. So be forewarned!

Out of all of the Vietnamese restaurants that I’ve been to in Edmonton, I’ve mostly liked Phở Hoan Pasteur in Kingsway the most. I know they have a location in the North, and I think they just opened up a location somewhere in the south(I need confirmation on this). Out of all the times that I’ve been here, there’s always been a high volume of people, both Asian and otherwise. My sister decided to get the Phở Dac Biet, which is basically the«special» which has a little bit of all the meat, and I went with the aforementioned rice dish. My sister’s boyfriend, Cole, was with us and he had the«Bun 5 Mau»(which means Noodles-5– colours), which is a vermicelli bowl with 5 different kinds of meat. We decided to get the Green Onion Cake to share. It’s one of me and my sister’s favourite thing to share. Something that I’ve always found weird, is that 90% of the time that we order it, it comes in the exact same shape and size. This led me to believe that there’s pretty much one manufacturer that supplies the majority of places. That being said though, these were the biggest green onion cakes that I’ve ever seen. I really couldn’t tell you whether or not they were made in-house or not, but I can comment that I’ve never really seen one quite like it. Width-wise, it’s the same as all the others, but it was so fluffy and tall. It came out super hot, and it was nice and flaky. I’d definitely recommend trying it out if you like green onion cake! As far as the phở broth goes, it’s pretty decent at Phở Hoan Pasteur. It’s nice and savoury, and not too salty. My sister loves to drown her broth with hoisin sauce, so I had to be quick and get some in before she sullied it. One thing I do have to comment on though, is that it didn’t seem like she had a lot of meat in hers. I know with the special bowl, you get«a little bit» of everything, but this was a bit extreme. I don’t know if it was just this occasion, but in terms of quantity of meat, I think you’re better off getting a more specialized phở bowl. Overall though, everything was decent. I personally really like the meatballs in phở. My mom owns a Vietnamese Sausage shop, and she supplies a few Vietnamese restaurants with sausages and meatballs, and sells to all of the Asian Supermarket, so it’s a good chance that I could be eating something in the soup that’s from my family’s own shop! The portion size is pretty good, so much so, that all of the rice was covered with something. Definitely a lot of protein going on the plate. Everything was really good. The porkchop was really well seasoned, and not too greasy. The egg was runny, and delicious to eat with the rice. The shredded pork was also very good. This can be a little bit strange for some people, because it’s actually shredded pork skin(bi), with roasted rice powder(bot thinh), and it’s kind of an acquired taste. The texture can throw you off if you don’t know what to expect! If you’re iffy on this, you can get the pork chop with spring rolls instead, which is another option on their menu. If you’re not in the mood for soup, this is definitely my go-to. The 5 colour vermicilli bowl was pretty good. The meat you get with this is beef, pork, chicken, shrimp, and spring rolls for 12.50. You definitely get a lot of meat with this dish. Everything tastes pretty much typical for a Vietnamese restaurant. Nice lemongrass flavour, and well seasoned. The spring rolls were decent, your average spring roll. This is a pretty safe dish to get if you don’t want soup or rice. It comes with a little bit of everything, and it all taste pretty good, and it’s a good deal too…

Fish sauce is so sweet. The food is ok. Not the best. I ordered 2 fried eggs and steam rice for my kid and they charged me $ 11.75 plus extra $ 1 for 1 egg. I questioned the server and she said a plate of steam rice and 1 egg cost 11.75 and the second egg is a $ 1. So basically 2 fried eggs cost $ 2. And a plate of steam rice costs 10.75. WTF. Am I wrong here? She argued w me that she is right. I get that u have to make money but that was stupidity.

One of my favorite places to have Phở. 1. Broth is clear and flavorful. Take a from a picky Phở eater. It is good. I like to get the #15 and like the option to get either big or small. 2. Vietnamese tea. It tastes different, not sure what it is but it is yummy. 3. Service at this location is better than the north side location. Surprisingly there is lots of parking even with the Superstore being really busy.

Usually it’s hard to convince me to get phở from anywhere other than the place right across the street from my apartment. But, on special occasions, we drive to phở, and this is where we go. I’m not a phở expert by any means, and I haven’t tried too many places in Edmonton, but this is my favourite so far. I much prefer their phở over their vermicelli bowls, but those aren’t too bad either. The service is fast and friendly, and it always seems to be pretty busy when I go. People are in and out fairly quickly though, so I’ve never had to wait for a table.

This is my favourite Phở restaurant in Edmonton. They are consistently good. I have never had a bad meal here. If you are here at lunch, it can gets busy and the service bogs down as a result. If you are here a bit before or after, it is fast and efficient. The staff are rarely friendly.

There aren’t many things in this world that can make a murky Monday feel like I’m getting an hour long scalp massage by Brad Pitt. But the #16 comes close. Choose between a small bowl the size of a child’s head, or a large bowl the size of that child’s big brother’s head. Then imagine that child’s head filled with an abundance of noodles bathed in a spicy warm broth that makes your nose drip in the best of ways. You can add sauces – they have many. But why bother when you have a bowl of art right in front of you. It’s like taking a Picasso and adding glitter to it. You just don’t do it. Ok, I have. And it was damn good. But you don’t have to. What you do have to do is try this Phở-nomenal dish. Yes, I just I did that. And I won’t apologize because people who order the #16 don’t have to. They have balls. Literally – order this dish with a meatball. It’s divine. And come hungry because you won’t have time to build up an appetite. These people mean business. Place your order and before you can reach the next level of Candy Crush, you’ll be served up a big bowl of awesome. What’s the moral of this story? Nose sweats are ok if they’re a result of soup. The #16 is delicious(order it with the balls. Because who doesn’t love a good set of balls?). And come hungry because you’ll be leaving full.

My search for excellent phở brought to this spot today. The first impression was good, parking was abundant, place was clean, the décor could use some updating, the waitress could smile a little but the place is above average for a phở restaurant. It was late afternoon and the place was half full. The service was fast and I order #13, phở with brisket, tendon, tripes and ve don. Took a sip of the complimentary tea, I almost spitted it back out, it was luke warm and taste like they used the day old phở water to brew tea. I am not a tea snob but the tea had a very unappetizing taste. Condiment wise, there were the usual chili sauce, chili oil, hoisin sauce on the side. The plate of fresh veggies were amazingly stingy, there was a microscopic half wedge of lemon(no lime?) — no matter how hard I squeezed, only two drops of juice came out; a tiny sprig of basil on top of a thin layer of bean sprouts. The customary fresh chili pepper was also missing, :-(. Overall, the veggie plate was kind of depressing looking as everything looked somewhat dried up. The noodle was then served, alarm bells were ringing, I didn’t see steam from the bowl. The broth was not hot!!! To me, one of the worst sins which can be committed by a phở restaurant is to serve me a bowl of phở which is not hot. Taste wise, the broth was light on beef flavour and a little heavy on the clove. It was a little murky with a fair bit of grease floating on top. It wasn’t bad, but the grease floating on top can be a bit of a turn off. Topping wise, they have by far the best ve don I have tasted in the city, true crunchy frank with the right texture. I was happy to have found good ve don in the city. Because of that, I can forgive a lot of their sins. Value for money, it was $ 10.50 for a large bowl of phở… not bad, except a large here would be a medium elsewhere, size seems to be a bit smaller than most phở joints. Overall, mediocre service, bad tea, stingy condiment plate, luke warm broth led me to only give them 2 stars but I would return for the simple fact that they have good ve don.

Amazing phở, spring rolls, and to die for green onion cakes. The service isn’t the best but with amazing food like this, it almost doesn’t need to be. Some places you go for the atmosphere, this place you definitely go for the food. Definitely authentic and with large portion sizes, this is a great place to go to satisfy that phở craving, especially when the days get shorter and colder.

The service here sucks. Always has. But the food is so ridiculously good that I don’t care. If you order anything other than soup(spring rolls, or green onion cakes etc.) it will arrive AFTER your soup and you’ll likely be too full to eat it. And if you ask for a glass of water you probably won’t get it for 10 minutes. But they’re quick to take your food order and bring you a pot of tea, and that’s all I really need. This is my #1 choice for Phở and has been for many years.

I’ve been here more than a dozen times and always left wanting to come back again. Their phở is great and that’s what got us hooked. Lately, I’ve been trying the vermicelli bowls which are of a pretty good size and very tasty. Service is always quick. I’ve always found it to be very clean too. My mouth is watering right now thinking about their green onion cakes.

Across from the aviation museum, right next to superstore lies this Vietnamese option. It has everything you expect from your typical place including Phở, Bun, soups, etc. The seating set up is such that booth seating are to the perimeter while tables fills the centre. It’s a sizable place that seemed pretty busy during this visit. Came here for Saturday lunch. Order the 11 and salad rolls. Veggies for the phở were fresh, no blotches on the leaves which made me happy. Salad rolls were great. The tea they served was simply … delicious. I believe it’s contains popped rice notes, yummy! You know the service was surprisingly friendly for a phở establishment. Enjoyed my experience. A bit out of the way for me to come often, but a good option if I find myself nearby.
