In a quest to locate Edmonton’s better donair options, I tried Homestyle on the southside on Ellerslie. Homestyle was an okay donair, but nothing great. The donair meat was chopped in smaller pieces rather than strips and seemed a bit dried out. The sauce was a bit runny and not as flavourful as a few others in town.

Love this place! After my first donair I was hooked. Their sweet sauce is like none other and their beef is equally fresh no matter when you order.
Friendly staff who even helped my find my wallet. Service is exceptionally fast.
The one downside is the parking. Beside the Canadian Brewhouse can get pretty busy and with only 3 – 4 parking stalls in front of the shop it can get pretty claustrophobic.
I’ve never eaten a better donair and would recommend it to anyone.

Homestyle Donair and Sub is a lovely little spot. On the night that I visited, I was helped by two very nice people and I was served a pleasant meal in a tidy dining room.
Why only three stars, then? Well, it’s the prices — they’re far too high. They should be about 30−40% lower. All in all, this place is alright.

This is our local donair shop. They put a ton of meat on the donair and not a lot of veggies. The service is fast and friendly. But beware of parking… there is only a couple spots and if there is anything going on at the Canadian Brewhouse you might be out of luck!

This place has hands down the best donairs I’ve ever had! I had the beef donair, and the meat was perfect. At other places I’ve been to the meat has sometimes been dry, but not here! And you can just load your donair with toppings and sauces, making it just the way you like it. You can get fries with your order, but honestly the donair is more than enough. I will definitely be coming back here the next time I’m craving a donair. I’m curious about the donair poutine. The restaurant is very clean and the people are very friendly.

Love this place! Best Donairs ever! The staff are fun and always recognize my boyfriend and I when we come in (we’re regulars, won’t go anywhere else for donairs). They always overload on the toppings! LOVE the mozza sticks too!

Excellent donair place on Ellerslie Road.
It’s set up a little awkwardly inside, which made me think they had just opened, but they’ve been around for at least a year now.
The donair meat is among the best I’ve had — perfectly cooked and seasoned. I’ve tried the shawarma, which wasn’t quite as amazing, but was still good. They also offer burgers on their menu, but I haven’t tried one yet.
The staff are friendly and helpful, and food is always prepared quickly and fresh (though I’ve never seen the place extremely busy before).
Prices are reasonable, though perhaps a bit on the high side compared to other fast food places in the area.
Definitely give this place a try the next time you’re looking for a donair fix!
