I didn’t bring a lunch to work, and I have walked passed Gabbana many times. I looked online at a menu, and decided to go over to place an order for takeout. I chose the szechuan beef bowl, and green onion cakes. When I got back to work, opened my food containers, and proceeded to eat, I was rather disappointed. The szechuan beef was not at all what I expected. It was bland, and lacked real flavor. The rice was soggy, and there was minimal vegetables. I ate the meat due to being hungry but it wasn’t enjoyable. The green onion cakes were actually good but I personally couldn’t eat more than a couple bites. The sauce that came with them, smelled heavily(quite potent) and had a bunch of white stuff in it. I really don’t know what it was. I wonder if I had possibly made the wrong choice when it came to food. I’m not certain that I would go back.

Walked in with a large group and they accommodated us with no problems at all. The service was amazing. Food came out hot and all at once. It was nice that we could all eat at the same time. I highly recommend this place — price is extremely affordable and the food is fabulous.

My second time here. Both times the food has been great and the service very friendly. The food is priced very well for the quality. I’ll keep coming back when I’m in Edmonton.

Went on a Monday night, had veal, was alright. The server was amazing though, he was very friendly and efficient. Décor is absolutely awful, room looks filthy, please remove that ivory chair covers, they look so dirty, but will go back again and try one more time

How do I forget about Gabbana so easily? Every time I visit, the mix of asian fusion food that they serve along with more western fare is really quite satisfying and you really can’t beat the Monday and Tuesday $ 5 lunch and $ 10 dinner deals. I mean really! My absolute favourite is any dish that has their curry sauce. They can’t be beat! On my most recent visit I even had a delicious cheesecake dessert to go with my salmon rice paper wellington. Very good. Service can be slow, which is the only caveat. But really the staff and location can’t be beat, especially on Mondays and Tuesdays. And it’s nice to support a locally run business.

Overall, okay food for competitive prices on a Monday or Tuesday, but you might have to wait a while as it gets busy on the cheap night. Had ginger beef and beef stroganoff. The Ginger beef was a bit heavy on the breading for our tastes, but over all okay. The stroganoff was good with nicely prepared strips of beef in the meal. The beef tended to bit a bit fatty at times, but it was good. We *did* go on one of the illustrious Tuesdays, and while the prices were super competitive($ 10 dinners) there was only one waiter working himself to death and it was overall slow. To the credit of the restaurant, it sounds like this is irregular.

I first stumbled across Gabbana when I saw a sign out front advertising $ 5 lunch Mon/Tuesday. I had already eaten but the price intrigued me. I walked in and asked to look at the menu. To my surprise there was 5 – 6 lunch options, including green curry shrimp, szechuan beef and Chinatown pork. I noted the options and ensured to return the following week. The next week I returned with a friend. I order the green curry shrimp. The meal came with 3 – 4 larger shrimp, bowl of rice and a small portion of vegetables. The curry sauce is good, relatively sweet with no heat. Overall the meal was good but excellent for $ 5. The restaurant has a nice décor and tends to get busy on Mon/Tuesdays given the great value. Our waitress was polite, but due to the number of customers can get overworked. Since my first visit about a year ago, I have come back many times. The food is always good and the value exceptional. I have found that the green curry shrimp is my favourite. If going for lunch on Mon/Tuesday, I suggest going for an early or late lunch which helps to avoid the high number of customers between 12 – 12:45. Overall, Gabbana has one of the best values in Edmonton. If you are looking for good food, nice décor and great value, Gabbana is a must.

I generally don’t like fusion restaurants but this one was pretty good. Their houae wine went well with my beef entrée and my husband had the seafood curry. They were both really good.

Amazing staff and wonderful food. The green onion cakes are unbelievable, as is the ginger beef appetizer. Try the Thai Seafood Bowl and you won’t be disappointed. Never a bad dish. Highly recommended

I took two friends here yesterday in the evening. We wanted to go to a place that we haven’t been to before and this was it because we already were near by. Anyways, we were greeted by a friendly young lady and seated at a comfortable table. We were pleasantly surprised by some of the evening dinner prices($ 10 for most dishes), but later learned that this is a Monday and Tuesday special… yay for us for stumbling in here then. Although the menu is somewhat scattered and a bit odd(European or Asian?)…it is not too extensive, but had a few enticing dishes. Since I am not a fan of most Asian foods, as most of this type of food is way too trendy for me, I picked the Veal Scallopini. My friends had the Beef Stroganoff and Chicken Schnitzel. My friends are much older than I am so they went European as well of course. Our food arrived promptly, placed correctly right away. The portions were just perfect — not too large or too small. The veal and pasta were delicious and my friends really liked their meals too. The waitress was right on the ball and showed us her dessert samples after our meals. I normally never eat dessert but I had to have their pecan pie — which was warm and fresh and just great. Bottom line, the food is very good quality and the service was excellent, I would come here again anytime. Only one thing that prevents it from being a 5 star review is that the menu really needs to be defined better. I guess I just didn’t feel like the Asian items really belonged there. I would have liked to see more European selections. Then again I am a meat and potatoes gal and not super adventurous with exotic foods as some other people.

So here’s the deal: go on a Monday or Tuesday. On those days, Gabbana runs specials, $ 5 for lunch and $ 10 for dinner. Seriously. And this is a sit-down, waiter service place with $ 5 lunch specials! I know, it’s unreal. And the thing is, the food here is actually quite good. Once you get past the flaky menu(is it European or Asian or what?), the food will satisfy you. The spring rolls are crisp and delicious(and only $ 2 for two on their special days), and the green curry sauce is outstanding, even if it is a little on the sweet side. So, come on a Monday or Tuesday. No, wait, forget I said that. Stay away on Mondays and Tuesdays. I only get an hour for lunch, and I don’t want you to take my table.

This Asian Euro fusion restaurant is amazing. It would be a good place to entertain out of town guests. Hip décor with comfortable semi private booths. Good wine list. A well run family owned restaurant with amazing food. There were so many things I wanted to try. I eventually settled for a thai Steak. I know… steak! It was very different. Juicy steak on a platter with hot caramel. I thought the combination worked. The sea food bowl that my collegue ordered looked and smelled amazing. Their deserts are few, simple but fresh and delicious. I can’t wait to go there again and try some of their other dishes.

There’s something slightly schizophrenic about this place. It doesn’t seem to quite know what the nationality of the cuisine it serves is, and that’s reflected in the décor as well, which doesn’t look to have been updated since 1987(yellow vinyl booths). Still, I’ve never had a bad meal here. I’ve also never had an excellent one.

We go here for dinner when my grandma comes in from BC. The atmosphere is classy and comfortable mixed together. It is not stuffy or run down, it has the perfect balance. The bright yellow and dark brown colors of this restaurant really complete the Asian feeling. The food is marvelous and well priced and their desserts are to die for. We are always able to make a reservation here, but I have never seen the place packed. I wonder if it just has not been discovered yet? The downtown location is convenient and there is parking behind the restaurant as well as paid parking on the street. Tip: Get the teriyaki chicken. Gabbana has one of the most fabulous teriyaki sauces in Edmonton!

Gabbana is a tasteful, quiet bistro located on Jasper Avenue that does a fair business with the lunch crowd. I was impressed with the selection on the menu — there were Asian and western dishes that were reasonably priced and had helpfully intriguing descriptions. I went with a salmon burger that was done to perfection. The food and the place were both lovely — I would definitely go back. If you want to go during the lunch hour I would recommend making reservations as the place can get packed and seating is limited.
