This art supply store is pretty nice. I just wish it was brighter and a *little* more organized. At the very front of the store, where you walk in, there is a large list of sale items. Towards the right of the store there is a large table of clearance items. I didn’t find what I was specifically looking for, but I still walked out with other items I needed. The customer service was okay.

My favourite art store in Edmonton! The prices are great and they always have something 30%. The staff aren’t pushy and are very down to earth. The man who helped me get started with watercolours didn’t talk down to me because of my inexperience… he also didn’t try to push the super pricey stuff on me, understand that I was new to the medium. I always go here for my supplies. I’ve never had framing done here… yet!

I’ve been here twice and both experiences were very different. First off, there’s a lot of stuff in this store. It’s very cramped and not necessarily organized in the best way. There’s about 3 different locations where you can find sketchbooks! Sometimes the prices are missing, which means you have to go to the staff to find out how much somethings costs. The first time I went, the gentleman running the counter was very rude and impatient. I couldn’t find the prices for two things and he really didn’t liked being asked how much anything was. This wouldn’t be a problem if their signage was more complete! He was the only one there and there happened to be two other customers in the shop with me. One wanted something framed, which took up 20 min of his time, leaving us two waiting at the counter for that long. Clearly there are times when an extra set of hands behind the counter wouldn’t hurt! I came back a few months later, and there was man named«Dale» working there who completely changed my attitude towards the place. He was very friendly and helpful. Overall, I like going there, depending on who’s working!

I find Colours Art and Framing South to be the best art store(off campus). Although it’s a funny little place I have never gone there looking for something specific and left without it; No matter how obscure or fine-arts-ish the item. The gentleman working there is super knowledgeable and had an answer, with a positive attitude, no matter how stupid my question. They advertise their sale items on their web site and that certainly helps when ringing in numerous items.
