Chili’s Texas Grill

I’ve been to this Chili’s location twice in the past 2 months — both with subpar meals for myself and those in my party.
I came about two months ago with 2 coworkers.
I ordered the soup and salad and chose chili for my soup — which should be good, it’s their namesake after all! The soup was horrible. It was so bad that I asked our server to go back and try some from the kitchen and he also said it tasted off. Then the manager came and and said he did the same and thought it was also weird.
My two dining companions weren’t happy with their meals either that day :-(
So…
Fast forward a month and I go again recently with a group of 8 from work.
I ordered the Smothered Burrito and it was weird also — the flavours were bland and it definitely was not hot inside. We waited 45 minutes for our food from the time we ordered so I didn’t have enough time to ask for a fresh one. Someone else in our group ordered the same and also said they wouldn’t order it again.
About half of us found our food lukewarm/​not pleasing.
I don’t think I’ll be coming here again…

Decided to stop by this restaurant on a Friday evening October ⁹⁄₁₅ around 630 pm. The hostess quoted us 15 to 25 minutes for seats in the dining room. Our friends had already arrived and self seated to the bar 15 mins earlier so we decided to just join them there instead.
The table wasn’t even cleaned off and the bar was half busy. The bar waitresses didn’t even acknowledge or clean off the table from the previous customers. The 2 waitresses were NOT busy. Asked the bartender if we could get some service. He said he would get the waitress over. 15 mins go by and the waitress doesn’t even make eye contact with us.
We got up and left after 30 mins trying to get any service. Our friends had waited even longer than that.
What a shit show. Never coming back. A huge disappointment.

Me and hubby were going for date night. So dinner and a movie.
We decided on Chillies at Manning Crossing and then head over to the Cineplex afterwards.
So we sit down in the lounge and look over the menu. We wanted something to drink but not any alcoholic beverages. Noticed on the menu they offer bottomless ice teas and lemonades.
I order the strawberry lemonade and my spouse orders the wild berry ice tea.
We order our meal and everything is great.
They don’t offer Caesar salad as of yesterday they say so when I ordered the chicken quesadilla, I had to have the spicy coleslaw. I hate coleslaw and all I wanted was a Caesar salad or a garden salad. But they could not accommodate my request.
We order 3 more sets of our drinks throughout our meal and then request our bill.
We find receive our bill and it’s quite higher than we anticipated. We ask our server as me noticed we were charge 6 times for our drinks and they were to be bottomless. She states no they are $ 3.99 each.
We didn’t want to argue at that point as our movie was starting shortly. So we took a screen shot of the drink menu.
Our drinks were priced incorrectly and they are to be bottomless unless this is advertising is misleading information.

All right, now that the fake reviews have been written, how about a real one, folks?
This location was a HUGE disappointment. We have eaten at 2 other location in Edmonton, and the food was great. It is a little pricey but the quality has always been good which justified paying it.
Then we went to this one and we will probably never go back. It was dismal. Pathetic. Disgusting.
The restaurant itself is beautiful. It is classy and if the food were not so bad, would be a great place to take a date. Which I did. Which I regret.
The server was wonderful. Very friendly girl. No issues there.
Now to the food. Or whatever the slop was they are serving here.
I ordered a steak, potatoes with gravy, and a side salad. The salad was decent, very pedestrian but good. The potatoes were «ok» but lukewarm. The steak was awful. I have had better steaks drunk at Denny’s at 3am. It was tough, overcooked, and seemed like a very cheap cut of meat even though it was a strip-​loin. And it was lukewarm. They also went from grille to plate instead of resting the steak, so my whole plate was a sea of juice from the steak. It was just terrible… probably one of the worst steaks I have ever had. Period.
«E» ordered ribs, along with mac and cheese. It was atorious and a complete mess of a meal. She started eating the mac and cheese and said to me «is this supposed to be cold?». Yep, it was cold. Oh, I exaggerate. There were a few areas of the skillet that were lukewam, but most of it was cold. Disgusting. And her ribs? Same thing. They were, in fact, so cold that they were still tough. Ribs toughen when you cook and refrigerate them, and «loosen» up when rewarmed. But they didn’t cook them long enough. They were freakin’ COLD! How can you screw that up? Well they did.
Never again will I go here. I can understand a glitch here or there. But the place wasn’t even busy, and to mess up almost every single thing we ordered is unforgivable.
Especially at the prices they charge.
I would compare it to Denny’s but that would be unfair to Denny’s. Overpriced garbage they can’t even cook properly. Two middle fingers to this location. And a big «shame on me» for paying for this crap. I should have had the whole thing comped but I wanted to get out of there just in case it made me sick.

Great place to eat… I really like the new one that is open my the theater. I think they need to work on there drinks though. Every drink that I have tried there had way to much alcohol.

DO NOT GET THE NACHOS! Apparently everything isn’t bigger in Texas … Go to BPs across the theatre and get more bang for your buck. Server was decent –although he didn’t do a hot check which is likely do to embarrassment from the nachos that were just served to us.

So the last few time we have been here I haven’t felt so hot afterwards. If you have read any of my previous reviews or my profile you will see I am a Celiac so my dining choices are slim. I was ordering the Margarita Shrimp Bowl from their Gluten Free Friendly menu but I found my tummy hurt afterwards. Now when I consume enough gluten I become VIOLENTLY ILL but all I had was pain. On our last visit on June 18^th I decided to try the Chipotle Chicken Fresh Mex Bowl. It was yummy. However by the time we got home I was in mega pain and it got worse as time passed. Again I didn’t get sick but there was enough gluten in that dish to cause issues. I know very well they can NOT guarantee there food is gluten free etc and I take my chances when I eat out. So I am not blaming them but I think there is something in their bowls that have hidden gluten b/​c I don’t think cross contamination would give me such a reaction. Hell even my home isn’t 100% gluten free as I am the only Celiac in the home and I’m sure I have cross contamination here. But 4 bowls in a row causing issues again isn’t a coincidence or cross contamination. So if you are a Celiac I have to say you might wanna give Chilis a pass. If you are avoiding Gluten to be trendy and cool go ahead an indulge in their Gluten Free options.

i love this place super fast and quick service, they certainly accommodate for someone with serious diabetes, and they are super friendly

This is very classy for a chillis!, I have had great experiences here with friendly staff, and prompt service and good food.
I did have one negative experience but they handled it professional and excelled in customer service as my dish was not at all up to par, the waitress offered me something else off the menu but I was pressed for time, so she took it off my bill and apologized. I will definitely go back!

Such a great spot, ordered the fajita platter, kind of a build your own
Comes with shrimp, chicken and beef and the toppings were fresh and great tasting,
The cilantro and lime made for the best shrimp tacos anywhere.
I will be back again
