5 stars for delightful service from the lovely lady today! She welcomed my friend and I to the shop by explaining the concept behind Salgado Fenwick and was the lone person mixing up hot/cold drinks too at the back! I had an iced chai with almond milk(they also offer coconut milk, soy and cow’s milk) — and it was refreshing and yummy on such a hot day like today. My friend enjoyed her cappuccino and scone. They will be extending their hours during the summer with all the foot traffic. Three little tables are set up outside for those interested, as well as some tables inside!

This is a two-fold business in the 124 Street district. There is the coffee shop and a printed textiles business as well. It is very«artist friendly» in that knitters are always welcome. Bring your needles or hooks and enjoy a coffee and some baked goods in their cozy environment! Almond and Coconut milk available for the lactose intolerant. The lattes are fantastic and made with love and care. Check out the textiles while you are there, «Salgado Fenwick» makes some really great prints. The ladies that run things are really friendly and welcoming.

It sounded intriguing so I went to their webpage to see what to expect. Who creates a café, then designs a webpage with no MENU page on it? In this day and age, with technology at our fingertips, that’s just ridiculous. Even if it’s just — Coffee — Latte — Mocha — Assorted pastries They may be cute and charming, but I won’t make a special trip to visit if I don’t know what they’re serving. I suspect others may not either.

Footsteps from my home, I love this café. It’s trendy, it’s inviting, it has great coffee… What more could a gal ask for? This is a great local business. There’s a sign on the door that says pets welcome, I can’t wait to have a weekend off when I can come in for a latte with my furry best friend. It’s tough to stop here for coffee and NOT pick up something else because they have so many cool knickknacks and tshirts etc. I’ve met the owner multiple times when she had her truck set up at various festivals, and she’s a total sweetheart! I hope this café sticks around because she deserves the success!

I love this little café because they offer almond, soy, coconut and cows milk as options for hot and cold drinks!!! Personally I have never had a cup of coffee in my life but the iced chai latte’s are really good. This is a great place to sit by the windows and people watch or read or chill with friends. 124th street has so many great places to shop and meet friends for dinner you can’t lose by stopping here for a latte. The best part about the Barking Buffalo is that you can shop for handmade designer clothing for men and women and kids at the same time. So many times I have wiped my xmas list clean by one visit. I would rather shop local and shop small than give my money to the mall or to starbucks… it really makes a difference in the lives of small business owners and artists.

Cute and a delightful stop! We poked in to check out the café and this great place is a café and clothing/print store. Cassie was kind enough to tour us around to see where they cut and sew all the items which was very cool and this just made the experience that much more unique and special. The prints are locally designed and done in store which I thought was a great touch. We had the pour over coffee and a chai which were both delightful drinks. Some great outdoor seating and just a few seats inside– definitely meant to be a shop and enjoy your drink spot at the same time.

I had a chance to swing by the new Barking Buffalo Café last week, a small grab-and-go coffee space paired with local fashion brand Salgado Fenwick. Coffee and fashion all in one space? It’s not an unusual concept but definitely a presentation of two visions bringing more life to the growing 124 Street district. The space was previously home to Parkhill Vision Care, with the downstairs space being used as Salgado Fenwick’s workshop. The upstairs became vacant last winter and Salgado Fenwick owners Linda Ritter and Shauna Force figured, why not? As lovers of coffee, they joined forces with Kassie Burkholder to bring you Barking Buffalo Café. Throw in Elliot Kerr, previously at Duchess Bakeshop, to help behind the bar and tada! The space is gorgeous, a display and shop of Salgado Fenwick’s fashions, complete with change rooms. Custom woodworking done by Oleson Woodshop in Regina gives Barking Buffalo Café, a fitting cabin-feel as most of the clothing have animal-inspired silkscreened prints. Head towards the back and you can actually see the cutting and sewing spaces for the shop which is pretty cool. The space extends even past the workshop, currently up for debate as to what it will become in the future. A few tables line the side wall, although the space is meant for a grab-and-go(or shop!) cup. Loved that they’re serving Toronto’s Pilot Coffee Roasters, a new roast to me and a welcomed one at that. I’m all about variety! Almond milk is a default here, a vegetarian/vegan friendly staple and for those sick and tired of paying the extra cost for the substitute. For those of us who like our regular milk, don’t worry, just ask! Muffins and granola bars are also available for munching. Congrats to Barking Buffalo Café on their opening! For a different cup of coffee and a chance to check out a great space, head up a little further 124th street to pay them a visit. Open late on Thursday nights, you can also pop by during the 124 Grand Market.
