Best baklava in the city !!! Love the mini pistachio and Nutella ones. I stumbled upon this place when searching for a good bakery on the east end and now I am a regular customer!

As authentic as it gets! This place reminds me of Buddy’s Bake Shop where you have Italians behind the counter pushing out homemade mass produced pastries and long line ups. You have to take a number and they call you up. I was slightly overwhelmed by the amount of pastries/desserts/bread/chocolates they had and I wanted to try everything. Their taramasalata(in the fridge section) was amazing as well as the mille-feuille and kokkakai. I will return again and again until I have tried everything in this bakery!

When we moved to the neighbourhood, we had no idea how good this place was! Now it’s become a house staple for us. I often go on a Saturday morning to get a couple fresh spanikopita or croissants. In the summer, I’ll walk over on a weeknight and pick up some of their gelato — also excellent. Service is very efficient and friendly, even when they’re busy.

The ladies serving the customers are great! As a non-greek, I tend to struggle with the names, etc. They always take the time to help me and explain the ingredients! The quality of my purchases have always been great! Highly recommend this place.

Such an amazing selection of treats. It’s overwhelming how many sweets they have. The greek cookies are my favourite. I’d give them 5 stars except one time I asked a girl that worked there what her favourite thing was, and she looked at me and said«do I look like I eat this stuff?» meaning that she was too skinny to eat it… Oh well, her loss.

If I could use one word to describe this Greek Bakery it would be «Disappointment» 1. I ordered a birthday cake for my 16th birthday & I specifically told the girls I wanted a bow around my cake to look like a present. The day I went to pick it up, there was no bow around the cake. There was a dinky little bow on top made from fondant. 2. I tried to put my 16th birthday cake incident aside & try them for my 20th birthday. DISAPPOINTMENTAGAIN! I ordered a vanilla round cake with white chocolate shreds around the cake. I go into the store and they present me with the bare cake with no white chocolate all around. I asked them where the icing and chocolate shreds are and they were clueless. They then ended up going to the back and adding the chocolate on as if they were trying to save the chocolate. 3. When I used to go before my 20th birthday they had really good bread but no most are hard and over cooked. *NEVERWILL I GOHEREAGAIN* and that’s coming from a Greek person as well.

E nem me auxiliaram a pegar senha.

Simply amazing place! Incredible variety of pastries/cakes/CHEEESE, more than reasonable prices, great service(you do not have to stay stuck in the line, just wait for your number to be called, having time to pick/think/walk/choose), friendly, smily staff. Passed by hundreds of times and so happy I finally checked it — one of the best bakeries in Toronto so far.

There are not many decent bakeries/pattiseries here in Toronto so you could imagine my delight when I entered here… there are lots of fresh items to choose from and the price is moderate. This Greek bakery is very similar to Persian style bakeries too! I will be a regular from now on :)

Really great place for grabbing a quick dessert bite or to get a box to take to a get together. Prices are very reasonable here. The bakery is nice spacious and clean. Very bright. Lots of great selection to choose from, a little bit of something for everyone… that is if they have a sweet tooth ofcourse.

I’ve always been curious about this bakery since I drive by there almost everyday. My first visit was such a delight! The lady who was serving me was so nice and helpfulI. I ordered some small cakes and Greek pastries. The cheesecake and the trigono were my favourite. Decided to return today and the place was packed. So I got a number and waited. Another lady helped me today and she didn’t look too happy helping me. Was very impatient and rude. I wanted to get a lot of stuff but she made me choose too quickly. Well I got my goodies anyways. I love their pastries though. So I’ll still come back.

The good: anything Greek, like the Baklava, is delicious and fresh. The bad: the ready made cakes… Even though a small round cake is just $ 20, it always has a weird chemical taste and I find I would rather buy a grocery store cake. I brought one to a last minute birthday party and most of it was wasted, everyone had 1 bite and left the rest. I should have got a pan of baklava and put a candle in it!

This is probably one of the best Greek/Macedonian/Turkish/Albanian/Bulgarian(all those countries have the same food :) bakery in Toronto! The toulombes are to die for! The baklava is the real deal, soaked in syrup, and not dry like in other places. The Ravani is amazing, and so is the Ekmek and Kadaif. The only reason I am cutting one star from the review is that on weekends the place gets very, very busy, and their ‘ticket/number system’ is not very good, so it can get frustrating.

This is my favorite bakery in Toronto, not just because it bares my family name but because the sweet are really good! Everything is backed in house and every day, nothing come from other places. All the cakes and pastries are backed right in the back, the bread is fresh and made daily. Plus there is a little grocery store which has my favorite feta cheese, how can you go wrong?! The staff have a down to earth, friendly, Greek charm that I really like. They have helped me pronounce all my favorite Greek pastries and have been patient with me as I forget them every time. The ladies always make me feel like family as we share a last name. Plus let me take a minute to talk about the cake selection! It is awesome, there is a lot of varieties and not just Greek cakes but also Italian and Spanish. All are made in the back and large order can be placed in advance. Don’t forget to try the ice cream when you are here, it is quite good. I recommend this place highly!

Nice bakery, my father often picked up cake here when he worked in area and it was good. Since he doesn’t work in the area he hasn’t picked up cake in a while. I remember the cake was always good for this Greek bakery. Athena is nearby but I preffer Serenos Price might have gone up. Since I last was here, maybe 4, 5 years ago. They definitely got bigger and renovated by I learned they bought the space for the pizza pizza that was next door and expanded but either way they just offer alot more variety

Everything looks so so good here. I didn’t even know where to start. Looking to the left, there were these monster size pastry items. To the right, tons of different flavors of butter cookies. And right in front of me, they had tons of mini size pastries. So, since it was my first time here, i decided to hit the mini items. Hard to describe all of the flavors i had but, have to say, I’m very happy with all my selections. The best part was, all the mini pastries were just a buck each. You can’t go wrong! Will i come back… yes. I need to get some of their breads. They looked so delicious. I wish i lived a little closer to this place.

If you like sponge cake then you will love this place. Most of the desserts are made of sponge cake which isn’t a bad thing, just it is the same thing with different finishes. The apple strudel here is amazing and worth the trip, not too sweet like most places. This is not the best for taste, but it is the best for selection if you are having a party and want to bring a try of some interesting deserts. I prefer the Galaktoboureko(custard pie) and the service at Athens Pastries on Danforth. Very limited selection but much higher quality.

Serano at Pape, not far from Pape and Danforth is offering variety of Greek and Eastern European pastries, fresh baked breads and carries in its little shop Greek specialities. This isa famous place to get your cakes and pastry if you happen to love in the neighbourhood. Everything looks first-class and the variety is pretty wild, but if you take a closer look, then 90% of the cakes are so called sponge cakes, which in my opinion is not exactly the most filling and creamiest you can find. After few visits we were done, as there was not much to try. We loved the Greek pastry and some bite-size cakes, but that’s all. If you love the sponge-cakes, then Serano is your heaven. Honestly. P. s. From time to time they give away freebies, so if your visit happens on a day when they do that, you can get an idea what the cakes are about, without even buying something.

This is my favourite Greek bakery. Warning: it does get busy on the weekends. There’s a little parking lot in front of the store, but I find it easier to just park on the street so it’s easier to get in and out. My favourite item to get here is coka… two layers of delicious cake, iced with chocolate, dipped in light syrup and sandwiched with pastry cream. I have gotten other stuff like baklava, kataife(they look like hay bales), and kouriabiedes, which are almond butter cookies covered with icing sugar. All soooo delicious!

Stepping into Serano is like stepping into a sugarholic’s dream world. Wall to wall glass displays of all kinds scrumptious and delectable cakes, pastries, tarts, mousses, cookies, chocolates, and there famous baklava. Serano specializes in Greek delicacies and is not only a Bakery but half grocery with a deli counter and Authentic Greek dry goods imported straight from Greece. The servers here are really friendly and patient. Being non-greek I asked so many questions about the different types of cakes and cookies they have available and she was soo good explaining everything and making recommendations. The selection here is hugee so if your an indecisive person like myself your best bet would be to pick a few different things from every category because everything is unbelievably affordable! I came away with a box of cookies, a box of baklava, a box of cake slices, and a box of pastries for only 30 bucks! My favourites are there sponge cakes filled with custard(Moka & Amaretto are my faves), there almond cookies & nut bar, foil wrapped chocolates, chocolate macaroons, and the best baklava in the city… basically you can’t go wrong with anything here! Come in and try for yourself because there open 7 days a week from 9am — 9pm and FREEPARKING!
