This location is actually closing soon, but while it’s technically still open I’m getting in my review. :-) I always enjoy browsing through Bombay. They have some really nice stuff. Useless but nice. All the jewellery boxes, candles, mirrors, business card holders and wall hangings you could want. Lots of warm, dark woods and truly eye-pleasing décor. The prices reflect this. Even at 50% off most of their items are out of our reach. We did find some nice candles though. While we paid, a couple were harassing a(nice, professional) sales clerk about their return policy. Declaring they’d spent $ 400 at this store the other day and demanding an exception should be made because it’s Christmas did not deter the clerk, who was apologetic but firm throughout. I wanted to give him a medal for putting up with Mr. & Mrs. Entitlement. Our clerk was friendly and helpful. While I will miss this location, there are fortunately two others in HRM. This is a lovely store to find unique gift ideas.

I almost feel like I’m in a wimsical forest as I walk through the isles of everything sparkly smelly amd wooden. Bombay has numerous random objects available for many different occasions. Since I was in last night you can imagine the amount of Christmas stuff available for purchase. They also have isles of candles, tables, bedding, jewerly boxes, anything. It really is an odds and ends kinds place. There are large and small wooden furniture of all kinds. The store is crowded. As I ventured through I felt as if I may knock something over or run into something. Too much things in too small of place. We picked up numerous objects looking for a Christmas gift for a family member. Many of these ojbects had some sort of deformity; a scratch, a nic, missing paint. This is somewhat reasonable due to the amount of traffic through the shop at any given time, especially at Christmas. This would not be a problem but it seems as though inventory is limited. We asked to see if there were more in the back, however there was not. This is a problem. I would assume that Chirtmas shoppers are the reason for all of the defects, wear and tear happens frequently from picking things up and putting things down. I really hope it’s not the quality because Bombay has plenty of beautiful wood pieces.
