This Starbucks opens at about 6am on weekdays which is really nice when you’re a tourist in the city & looking for something to eat for breakfast that doesn’t cost an arm & a leg. It was also in walkable proximity to our hotel which made it the most convenient place to go. Good stuff.

Another Starbucks in another location. Well there wasn’t anything special about this location. I received the service I expect and got the coffee I ordered. Caffeine keeps me going, Starbucks just feeds the addiction.

Starbucks are all the same, but sometimes consistency is nice and this was a good place to grab some hot chocolate after a cool walk on Sunday afternoon. Nothing special but the staff were friendly, I asked for a cup of water and they didn’t try to upsell me to a bottled water which I appreciated. Quiet, probably since it was Sunday, and a nice spot to sit and chat. :)

Thanks for the soy cinnamon dolcé latté yesterday evening, Sbux. It was tasty. Thanks also for the free chicken caesar wrap. I couldn’t eat it, but it was much appreciated. xoxo, Tea

All Starbucks are the same. Their drinks are overpriced and their coffees are dreadful, having been brewed from over roasted beans. Essentially, Starbucks coffee beans are burned. Starbucks’ coffees contains rancid oils and are therefore toxic. Some people can tolerate this because they are young, healthy and their organs(bowel, liver and kidneys for instance) are good at eliminating toxins. Regardless, I’m pleased so many people enjoy Starbucks, because it keeps them from crowding other coffee establishments. Starbucks is primarily about lifestyle; not coffee. People will, it seems, pay dearly for a lifestyle. Smokers are among this group. P. S. In fairness to Starbucks, there are other establishments having equally bad, unhealthy, coffee. That would now include McDonalds and anyone selling Seattle’s Best. They have simply copied what they noticed has worked for Starbucks; burned beans. Vendome Café, would be one more example. There are more.

Despite the fact that there are 1,000 Starbucks in Calgary… this is the one Rob & I frequent the most. It’s closest to our home, so we’re there about 3 times a week I’d bet. There used to be a really nice guy who worked there, his name is Barry but he moved out of Canada a few months ago, so it took us awhile to build a new rapport with the next staff. They are really friendly at all the Starbucks locations, and I really love those new cakepops: d(hope they’re here to stay!) Rob & I both have Starbucks giftcards that get reloaded almost monthly, and one of the best things I can say about this company is that when you buy Ethos brand bottled water, some of the proceeds go to help African villages get clean water. I know this place is popular because more times than not, when Rob & I are there, it’s quite crowded :)

This Starbucks is the one I frequent the most during the week. They have an excellent system, the service is always friendly and the drinks are yummy. What else could one ask for? It gets quite busy during«coffee time» weekday mornings(8:30−9:30ish) but the line will probably move quicker than you think.

How lucky am I to have this opportunity to put a local shout out to Starbucks coffee on 8th Avenue. I was the project manager of a huge event that took place at the Glenbow Museum, which included dance entertainment, free food and beverage. And after requesting donations of food from the community, the members of my board thought why not acquisition the help for beverages as well. Well, we all love juice and water but how about kicking it up a notch and serving free coffee? I thought what the heck why not ask Starbucks. And still to this day and to my dismay the ringing response was that they were so honoured to be able to have the privilege of donating to our event! I was floored by this generosity! Basically they had 2 two gallon gas can like jugs ready for us to pick up the night of the event complete with condiments and cups. It was amazing; in return they wanted nothing from us except using their coffee cups with their logos. I thought we can definitely manage that. It was one of the speediest and well followed up negotiations I experienced with that job. They called me to confirm and then again the day of to remind me that the coffee was ready. We attracted 150 people at the Glenbow Museum that night and I believe there was more than enough coffee; it also gave us a bit of social prestige knowing we were associated with such support. I was so impressed by this community gesture from Starbucks and am so glad that I can share this story here. So for any future events that may need a java jolt feel free to call any outlet and ask for their help, I know they will respond quite positively.
