Specialties
To our guests we serve only the finest quality beef — prime grade. For perspective, only 2% of all beef that is graded in North America is superior enough to deserve that designation. We offer both Alberta and USDA cuts. All of our steaks are wet-aged for anywhere between 24 – 28 days, to enhance their flavor and maximize their tenderness. Seasoned with only salt and pepper, every steak is broiled to perfection at 1800 degree and is served sizzling on a 500 degree plates with a fresh pat of butter.
An eclectic offering of giant side dishes allows our guests to customize their meals, and creates the opportunity for guests to share, family-style. And our expansive wine list, studded with wines familiar, rare, and exclusive, ensures that, whatever your meal, we have the perfect wine to compliment it.
On our desert menu guests are offered such indulgences as specialty coffees, Ports, Ice Wines, and homemade delights such as our Caramelized Banana Cream Pie and luscious Chocolate Sin Cake.
History
Established in 1965.
It all started in 1965 when Ruth Fertel mortgaged her home to buy a little steak house in New Orleans called Chris Steak House. As her reputation grew, Ruth expanded and added her name to the original. That’s how the uniquely named Ruth’s Chris Steak House was born. We are now over 130 locations worldwide and growing!
Ruth’s Chris is the finest steakhouse in Calgary. From our décor to our service to our food, every guest of Ruth’s Chris is treated to an extraordinary dining experience unparalleled in its excellence.
Our chic interior wraps around the base of the Calgary Tower and boasts imported walnut limestone, elegant mahogany wine towers, and an exquisite French maison de pays hearthstone fireplace. Our knowledgeable service professionals address their guests by name, and provide exceptional service that is friendly and unpretentious.
