I have been coming to this Good Earth Café location for several years. The service has improved greatly since the summer of 2015. The staff are very friendly and efficient, particularly Kayla, Jinny and Frodalyn. They always greet customers with a smile and remember regular patrons. They never keep customers waiting for extended periods. I like the atmosphere of this location — the natural lighting and the view. The Café is always clean. I prefer coming here to Starbucks or Tim’s or those«snobby» high priced coffee shops on fourth street. The beverages and food are good at this location. A great place for a casual business meeting, to use your computer, to meet a friend or to just people watch.

There’s nothing particularly outstanding about this coffee shop, but I’m giving it four stars because it’s directly across the street from Starbucks. So if you have a choice, then find your way to the Good Earth Café. Lovely strawberry scone, nice solid wooden tables, and a hot and competent café mocha. If I’m in Calgary looking for a coffee, then I’ll keep my eyes open for a Good Earth. #30DaysOfYelp(30⁄30)

I visited this place couple of time in last three months. Environment is nice but require some personal touch. It’s nice to have WIFI like starbucks at this place. I find this place better than stabucks across the road due to nice natural lights and more selection of items than starbucks.

I’m not really sure when Good Earth became almost as ubiquitous as Starbucks in our fair city. It’s a bit of a shame, as the original Good Earth had a lot of homey charm that was stripped away during it’s renovation last year. This Good Earth(in the Sheldon Chumir building) follows that predictable formula to a tee. I end up working here frequently in between meetings so it’s nice that I know what to expect, but I always seem to struggle in terms of what to order to justify occupying a table. The Pumpkin Spice muffin is a tasty winner, but if you like your waistline it’s best enjoyed infrequently. Ditto for the Seed Roll(a sticky bun with ‘healthy’ seeds sprinkled liberally on top). This location has free wifi, which I suppose is it’s most redeeming quality. But, like the previous reviewer has mentioned, Kawa is just blocks away and offers a far superior experience. I’ve been to this Good Earth many times, usually mid afternoon. It seems like they never have enough people on staff when that 3pm coffee/sugar rush hits as it’s not uncommon for me to wait 10 minutes before I can place my order. Avid people watchers will enjoy the large windows and transient population in the adjacent park or walking along 4th Street. I like to play a game called«What is that person’s name?» where you try to guess the name of people as they stroll past you. Though the game is really more fun when you have a co-conspirator with you… otherwise you’re just the creep staring at people and mouthing stuff. 8⁄30

It was a tough challenge rating this new Good Earth Café. On the one hand everything is new and shiny so it looks its best. Also I like the variety of table types including a picnic table. However, the menu is grossly predictable, don’t expect anything new. I will say this, going in you know what you are going to get and they deliver. Nice place, but Kawa is just a few blocks south so I’m not sure if I would frequent here. But it’s nice to have options.
