We’re part of the Fas Gas Fleet Plus Program, so naturally we end up at a Fas Gas retailer for 95% of our fuel purchases. If we didn’t have this option though, I’d probably use a different gas station as honestly there’s nothing special about this retailer. They do have a litre log program though that gives back 3 cents per litre, decent enough program but most retailers have something comparable these days. One thing Fas Gas is typically known for is being a «full service» Gas Station, I remember back in the day you’d pull up to just about any gas station and they’d take care of the pump for you, clean your windows, and check your oil if you wanted them to. Those were the standard things included in a «full service» station and often they could do more if needed. Over time this model died out, but Fas Gas kept it going longer than most to cater to a niche audience. Fas Gas McKnight Gas & Wash is still one of the few stations that have signage for«full service» but the only added service you will get here is they’ll pump for you. Honestly this isn’t a big value add since it takes me less than 20 seconds to unscrew my cap and start the pump, usually it’s done before the attendant is even out. Some people seem to still like this though and I’ve even seen people get mad if the attendant is slow or doesn’t come out. The pumps at this station are a bit primitive still; no pay at the pump here and the attendant actually tells the cashier the total, apparently it’s not electronically linked to anything inside. Hmm… Also I do caution using pump attendants, it is common practice to «top off» to the nearest dollar or two and you should not be doing this! If you have an attendant helping you, request no top off! 1) You may be paying for gas that’s pumped back into the hose(car defense mechanism). 2) Vapors are harmful and spillage isn’t good for the environment. 3) You need that extra space in your tank for the gas to expand and for the vapor collection system to work properly. 4) It may harm the station’s vapor recovery system. DON’T TOPOFF! The store itself is a bit dated but it still offers a little more than the Fas Gas location I reviewed in the SE(Willow Park). Just like that location, you can even see a pay phone on the side, quite the relic haha! This location also features a Subway Franchise which is a definitely plus, as well as a self-serve Car Wash. I haven’t tried either of these add-ons, but it’s good to know that they’re there. For snacks and drinks the selection is decent enough here but it isn’t quite a 7-Eleven. They also have a decent automotive stock for maintaining your vehicle, and there is some newer stuff near the front including phone chargers. The staff isn’t great at this location, some are nicer than others but none go above and beyond or seem thrilled to be there. On one occasion their merchant machine was acting up and the cashier was going ballistic, going as far as dropping F bombs left and right. Pretty unimpressed with how he handled it, especially since I wasn’t rushing him or giving him adding grief. Staff is slightly better at the SE Willow Park Service Fas Gas Plus location for sure. Service is big for me which is why I’m ranking this location slightly lower. Overall like the SE location I reviewed, I’d say it’s adequate, a no bells and whistles gas station with lots of room for improvement.
