Delta Calgary Airport In-Terminal Hotel

Comfortable beds.
Great pool and hot tub if you’re not shy. All the interior rooms have Windows that look directly upon the pool.
Compass restaurant good for dinner but not off the breakfast menu. Luke warm food.
If you have long hair bring your own hair dryer.
Krueger coffee machine in room!

I love this hotel for its proximity to the airport. (There’s even an indoor bridge to the hotel via the food court!) Other than that, this hotel could use some improvements, the main one being that the whole hotel needs to be modernized. The hallways and rooms look fairly dated which can sometimes make the hotel look a little worn. The pool is in direct view of the restaurant, which might make some hesitate to go swimming. The workout room is small, but decent, and it’s hardly ever crowded, so it’s OK. My favourite thing about the hotel is its restaurant in the lobby (but that’s an entirely separate review). In short: great space for short layovers, but maybe look elsewhere if you’re stay in Calgary is just a little bit longer.

The service and hospitality was fantastic from the doorman to the front desk lady to the waitress at the restaurant. Had the bison at the restaurant it was amazing. The food was all very good.
The hot tub had a funny smell and was Luke warm even after being on. Just needs a little updating/​tweaking.
The shower was unfortunately the same temperature and outdated.
The hotel had basic cosmetic updates but needs a lot of updating as far as appliances go.
Would come back for the service but for a hot — hot tub and shower I would stay down the road and take a shuttle to the airport.

My experience with the hotel was very unpleasant.
Came in late (around midnight). I really wanted a drink after my flight (just a soda). Hotel bar closes at 12 — fine. There’s no mini-​bar in the room — those have been out of fashion, fine. The vending machine only accepts Canadian dollar and no credit cards — it’s start to get crazy. I call room service — they tell me there’s a 45 minute wait. I’m sorry?! A 45 minute wait?! An argument ensued in which whoever was on the phone tried to explain to me «first come first serve». This is great customer service! I will never stay in this hotel again!

I stay here often. Front desk is always prompt and friendly. Room service for my fave beef dip sandwich ($ 19 with salad or fries) took only 25 mins. Bed was comfy, room clean and quiet. I don’t understand why the tv was not on a higher stand… Odd to look down to watch.
Carpets by the elevator a little worn and dirty at edges. I never swim in the pool because it’s visible in the middle of the open lobby and from the inner rooms. Saw some girls enjoying it though. They have a nice gym and Starbucks coffee. Great hotel for an airport stop. Connected to the airport so you can just walk from the terminal on the upper food court over. If you want to save money, you can pick up something from the terminal (subway, Swiss chalet or sushi, etc) and bring it with you to your room.

I think this place is great and super convent. It’s like literally so close to the airport, it’s ridiculous. The staff is super nice and efficient. They have a decent pool. We ordered room service after a long flight and it arrived very quickly and was hot and really good. We woke up at 6:30 the next morning and ordered a thermos of coffee and they delivered it right away! I think this place is great. The price is good too if u factor in having to get a taxi to another hotel. We will so be coming back !!

Slept like a rock here… I completely expected to hear cargo planes taking off at 1am, but I didn’t hear a peep, even in the daytime the next morning. Either I was lucky or the soundproofing is excellent.
Nice people and good amenities. Enjoyed using the Keurig coffee maker the next morning.

As pretext it would be helpful to know that I have stayed at this hotel many, many times in the past so am perhaps more keenly aware than most of ways the establishment has subtly changed over the years. but i digress.
I had a somewhat mixed experience staying at the Delta this time, but even so the marvellous service we experienced, particularly upon checkout, far outweighed any negatives (which were more to do with the lounge anyway).
Firstly, the convenience and location of this hotel cannot be beat… even though the perpetual construction when approaching via automobile (especially at night) may leave one unnecessarily circling the airport with growing angst. but again this has more to do with the airport itself than the hotel.
Check-​in was smooth and efficient once the rental car was returned. After a mildly disappointing late dinner in the lounge (to be reviewed separately), we settled into the increasingly dated looking room, which was bafflingly called «Premier» (it was obviously as basic as they could find).
Apart from the slightly «fraying around the edges» feel of the room, there were no major complaints other than the fact that the shower drain rapidly clogged when taking a shower. I needn’t elaborate on the fact that its pretty disgusting to have your feet sloshing around in the backwash of water that has made its way over who knows how many countless bodies before yours. one never knows what kind of human waste has previously found its way into the drain, and one certainly does not want to be ankle deep in it in this day and age.
If I wasn’t on an extremely tight schedule and/​or coming down with the flu, I would have had maintenance up in a heartbeat, but I was traveling with an ailing parent who was just as flu ridden and desperate for sleep on the tail end of what had been a draining trip. Pun intended to the fullest extent.
Now for the upside… As we were about to rush out for a very early US bound departure, we discovered that one of our bags had a torn zipper and another bag that we thought was within the allowed weight range, was significantly over (mother swears that this was a shock to her and could have nothing to do with the sales she encountered at the Chinook mall. but again i digress.).
Anyway our saviour came in the form of a man called Miguel. Some may call him a bellhop, while we are now considering urgently advising the Pope to beatify him as the patron saint of emotionally scarred and soul weary travellers. We have yet to hear back from the Vatican, but if you see a smiling man with a pleasantly continental accent offer assistance with your bags, take a moment to see if you can spot the halo that surely hovers above his head, and then tip him heavily. He took care of us very very well, taking pity on the fact that we both at this point had lost our voices due to laryngitis and so he made sure each of our bags was properly weighted and fixed, checked for any left behind items in the room (there were several) and then walked us all the way to our check in counter. As a veteran traveler I can honestly affirm that this is not service that one often encounters and I applaud the Delta hotel for hiring such excellent staff. For all its shortcomings, it says a lot about a corporation when they seek out, hire and hold on to such integrity in staff members.

I loved the proximity to the airport (it seems like 300 feet away from checking in!) and the beds– they were the comfiest hotel beds I’ve ever been in. Everything was very clean and modern, another big plus.
The downsides were mainly the restaurant (Compass) which we had a bad experience at (see my review there), but also when we checked in they didn’t have our reservation even though we had all the paperwork. Apparently they use some third-​party contractors (like Expedia) who apparently can let some reservations slip through the crack. They were able to fix that and were nice about it. My only other piece of constructive criticism would be to have more natural/​environmental friendly toiletries– there were unpronounceable ingredients in the shampoo…

Really nice, well kept hotel a short walk from the terminal building. Nice decore, great beds. Bathroom could have been nicer, older fixtures, but everything was very clean. Good restaurant and tiny pool. Pretty pricey, but you just can’t beat the location… nothing like waking up and walking to your flight to start your trip off right!

The staff were very obnoxious. The bar staff were arguing with each other right in front of me, swearing and shouting, which subsequently took them 10 minutes to serve me. The food was under par. The waitress forgot my order. The room was in a mess, smelled like a lavatory, the key card didn’t work for the door. Not recommended.

Coming home late? Headed out early? Then this is the place for you! Even as a Calgarian there have been times I have stayed here, to save driving to YYC at 5am. It is a standard Delta, clean rooms, comfy beds and connected to the Airport and parkade (not going outside in winter at 5am is always appreciated).

We recently spent one night at the Delta Calgary Airport while travelling on business.
This hotel is great if you have an early morning or late night flight at Calgary Airport. It is connected by an enclosed walkway to the airport terminal, which is very convenient. It is also connected to the car rental lots. This is the greatest feature of this hotel.
Otherwise, it is quite an ordinary place — neither exceptional nor poor.
One positive is the dining selection on-​site. There are 3 restaurants/​bars in the lobby, and each are quite nice. This included one of Calgary’s better known steakhouses.
One negative I found, is an $ 11 charge for use on the high-​speed internet service per day. I find this to be unreasonable in a hotel that charges $ 150 a night and caters to business travellers.
Overall, I would stay here again, but only if I have an early flight like last time.

The Delta Airport Hotel is a nice hotel, that happens to be directly across the street from the departure gate at YYC. I have stayed here twice on the front and back end of business trip to Medicine Hat (a long 3+ hour drive across the fruited plain) and have joined friends for a drink in the lounge prior to departure. I also remember a very kind hotel attendant who let me park my rental car in one of their limited spots while I was waiting for a colleague to get back (late) from his day skiing at Lake Louise.
During my sleepovers, the rooms were comfortable, clean, and safe. Service was friendly and helpful and a separate parking area was available. You might need the car if you’re staying here longer than to make a travel connection. Terminal entertainment options are limited and there is a substantial commercial area (including a Chapters Book Store) very close to the airport.

The Delta Airport Hotel is one of the better ones in the city that I’ve been to. It looks nice, it’s clean and it’s directly across the street from the departure gate.
I’ve stayed here twice, once because somebody made me miss a flight (I’ve never missed a flight) and was impressed. The bar and restaurant here is first-​class and even though I may have had more than the recommended daily intake, they were very patient and professional about everything.
The other time was just for a quick sleep before an early flight and again they surpassed expectations. The rooms are clean and fresh and everybody knows what they’re doing. It’s hard to find that these days and you will pay for it, but the airport Delta is definitely worth staying at.
