Unilocal should have the ability to give negative ratings to a company eg negative one star, negative five stars etc.
This company is a complete disaster. The second worst I’ve dealt with in Alberta.
There are consistent waits of ½ hour or more on the phone as well as long waits in person and apathetic or unknowledgable staff. It’s a truly horrible organization.
I’d rather be Woody Allen’s stepchild than deal with these people. They arbitrarily increased my auto insurance without telling me and then I had to wait forever to get them on the phone I HATE AMA

Don’t waste your money or time on an AMA membership.
We have been members of AMA for many years and are disappointed with their level of service. They have obviously over sold their membership without upgrading their fleet by adding more vehicles to meet the demand. When we have to use them once in 5 years, we can’t get service. Over 5 years ago, I had a problem with my car after six on a summer evening and it took over 3 hours to get a tow. We had a problem with our car this morning whereby oil leaked out of one of our cars unto the garage floor to the extent we could not drive it, we were told by AMA that this doesn’t constitute an emergency so it will take 3 days to send us a vehicle to tow our car. — or go find another Tow Company. We pay almost $ 200/​year for emergency service — $ 1000 in 5 years. I am sure we or anyone could get an immediate, excellent tow for that price and in ten years we can own our own tow truck. So where does the members money go?
I would suggest not to waste your time and money on an AMA membership and we are seriously considering canceling ours and we suggest you look seriously into what you are buying in an AMA membership. What appears to me is that they are diversifying into other businesses and using emergency membership money to make more money, setting up new offices, etc — you name it and we have to go without the emergency services that we are led to believe we are getting in our membership.

My car registration renewal was coming up, and I was happy I had the option to renew it at this AMA office. It’s walking distance from my office and since I decided to go around 11 there wasn’t a line up and I got helped right away.
The desk clerk was really friendly and made the process speedy and efficient. Bonus — I got to do a two year renewal AND pay with credit card (all the other registry places I’ve been to are cash and/​or debit card only)
I know that I’m entitled to a lot of benefits being an AMA member (which I probably don’t use to my full advantage) but at least I know where I can go if I ever need to do so!

This is a solid AMA location. I find that they are quick here from a service perspective (quicker than some other locations) but they are a little less friendly — probably goes more with the downtown office crowds they would see. The are polite and everything, just not the warm and fuzzy kind of service.
The location itself is much smaller than most AMA centres but they run it efficiently and they offer all the services a full sized AMA centre would (travel, member services, registries, insurance). That being said though, there is a lot going on from a signage perspective with wayfinding signs, special offers and more (brochures, things on the counter tops, employee badges and ribbons) that it can be visually overwhelming to figure out where to go and what you need to know.
What I like about this location is that it is easy to get to if you work downtown and is rarely super busy, meaning I can get more done on my lunch hour!
