Active Green + Ross

Have been a loyal customer of theirs for years. Never really cared for the front desk guy and his brother because they are rude and have like 0 customer service skills, and make annoying personal calls all day long, even when customers are waiting. But today is the day I made the decision not to go back. While checking me out, when I was in the middle of discussing important things about my car, Mike decided to take two long business phone calls while I just sat there with my thumb up my ass. When I finally said «Excuse me, I wasn’t done asking about this.» He got rude and started berating me in front of the other customers, telling me that I come in here every time asking for the same thing. Well excuse me if I’m trying to be cautious and not making a brash decision about my car, and looking for helpful advice. Not to mention it would be extra work for them. He basically talked to me like I was an idiot that didn’t deserve to be given advice. I wasn’t asking him the same things, but he just doesn’t take the time to understand what I’m trying to ask because he’s too busy answering the phone for business and personal calls.
He informed me today that I had a huge engine problem, and then INSISTED that he had already told me that. Um, I think I would remember if you told me I had an engine problem which means my car will last another couple years. Just, wow, what an upsetting customer service experience! Here I am, grieving for my car, and he’s treating me like crap on top of it.
I have been going here for YEARS because I think Sunny is a good mechanic, but I won’t be going back because I can’t deal with the lack of not only basic customer service skills, but lack of human being skills.
We also had another issue where we had some work on the car which turned out to be $ 1600. I informed him that I was trying to keep my costs down, and yet while I was sleeping he called my husband and got permission from him to put on two extra brakes on in the back that the mechanic told (only) me that I had another 3 months on (I wasn’t even driving much at the time at all). I not only feel beat down by these people, I feel cheated. Also, after all that, he argued with me about a coupon for an oil change because he didn’t want to give it to me, after I was paying $ 1600 in repairs, after saying that he would help me with keeping down labor costs (telling me to get better parts instead), which of course I never heard another thing about.
What a joke these brothers are, I strongly recommend avoiding them! They have been doing this for a long time and they KNOW the ways to get around things to make money off of people, especially unsuspecting people that don’t understand too much about cars such as myself. Never going back!

I was at this Green & Ross location recently — Canada Day long weekend and I came in late just before they closed on the long weekend. I have to say I was totally impressed with the service, not only did the mechanics stay late to finish my car repairs so that I wasn’t stranded all weekend without my car, but their prices were fair and the counter guy was super friendly and had a great sense of humour!
From now on this Green& Ross location on West Drive is the only place I“ll be taking my car!
