Great place for food. The beer stew was quite good and had all lean meat. The fish(seafood) waterzui stew was incredible! Lots of fish(cod I think), salmon, and my favorite, crawfish! It was quite delicious. Large portions too.

We went there for lunch a Saturday, 4 adults, 1 kid. The food was good, with a lot of belgian’s specialties… The waitress who takes the orders was very friendly but the one bringing the food was terrible… she almost through the plates at you and was showing you that she was really annoyed to do what she does… We also did not like the quite loud and annoying music(like Titanic or Les misérables…) very tiring…

Very nice gastro pub with great food. The location is ideal, in the center at a large place, perfectly fine to get some sunshine outside and have a drink. The place is not large, so it might fill up quickly. It^s a simple place so don’t expect much decoration or atmosphere from the design, but the convenient location makes up for it. Do have a good selection of different dishes at offer. We had the chateaubriand(steak) for 21 Euro. We didn’t expect much, and were positively surprised as the meat quality was extremely good. Perfectly cooked and served hot. The service was very helpful making good suggestions and even brought some more french fries for free. The only downside was that it took a while for the food to arrive, but given that we ordered 5 steaks thats understandable at a busy place.

Really great local Seafood Stew! Prices were very reasonable, and the outside patio was great for a late dinner in the summer. What a fantastic bargain!

This was a recommended place from the front desk of our hotel in Gent. It was a long day, and what was supposed to be a 3,5 hour train ride turned into a 8 hour train and bus ride. Hence, we wanted to do dinner correctly. This bistro is located in Sint Baafsplein, aka Church Alley. When we got in, there was a free table for two, so we took that. They had a good beer selection, and since we were in Belgium, I wouldn’t pass the opportunity. I ordered a Brugge Blond(two of those, actually), as well as the rabbit stew. The rabbit stew came with apple sauce. Oh, there were also fries, with very tasty mayo. I never had rabbit before, so I actually lost my rabbit virginity here. And it was a great awesome experience. I like the meat texture, and I also like the way they prepared it. The sauce was very tasty, and the match with apple sauce was perfect. This dinner is more on the expensive side(well, I am just used to Berlin prices), but after today’s very tiring travel day, I could care less. They do accept credit cards, but not debit cards.

Flanked by ancient churches in one of Gent’s town squares, Vosken ‘t has a great locationi for people watching and good food as well. We sat on the patio, watching kids play in the fountain as we tried their nice selection of Belgian beer. Foodwise my compatriot’s Steak Tartar was excellent while my lasagne hit the spot… both very reasonably priced. Service was good, if a bit overwhelmed… he had 12 tables, so he was running pretty hard. Menus are in 6 different languages so just ask for yours. If you are in Gent, this is a good choice.
