This is not the place you come to romance that special someone, but I am sure you can do some romancing with the take away. The venue itself is not a place you look forward to dining in, however as far as the takeaway goes, it is pretty good. The beef rendang is great, it is very similar to how the rendang use to be at the Sparrow in Northbridge(A restaurant we miss with all our heart). We also always enjoy the Mia goreng, and have never been disappointed yet. The service is super friendly and the prices are super cheap, this is a great little place to pick up the take away when you cant be arse to cook, but still want good fresh food.

While Hong Kong Tak Kee(yes don’t say the last two words too quickly) might not look like much of a dining establishment — couple of plastic chairs and tables for those who really want to eat in — it delivers very good Chinese takeaway. With some other nationalities’ dishes thrown in for good measure! The Beef Fried Ho Fun is rather good; not too spicy like you might find in other places. Also good on the menu: the Satay Chicken, the Me Goreng(like a Nasi Goreng but without the egg and a little lighter on other ingredients), and the Sambal-just-about-anything. I’d seen the word Sambal a lot recently and only just learnt that its a chilli-based sauce, basically. And I find whenever Tak Kee use chilli in their dishes, they never overdo it. Excellent value here, too, with mains starting at $ 11.50.
