The second time here, food’s size and seafood is less than last time, I have no idea why

Breakfast is super cheap here and while it’s not what I call a traditional brekkie it is certainly a tasty one. I’ve never had breakfast served with a salad before for example but it was a very tasty salad. My omlet was made in layers rather than mixed through or folded over but it actually contained more ham than I’d normally expect and was exceptionally tasty. If you order eggs on toast they bring you butter and vegimite which made me smile. The glasses are cool but I think they would drive an OCD person insane.

second time here for a coffee, and it’s delicious. Must be honest I wasn’t really expecting it too be of a good standard. but really surprised and any time I walk past I grab a coffee. Also the water is served in these funky glasses which I funny, haha

Yummy delicious food with great take away containers! The food seems to be a healthier twist on Thai food, less greasy and quite flavourful! We did however expect the green curry to be a bit spicer because we got the spiciest but if that’s the only complaint then they are doing great! We got this food delivered and it was delivered quite quickly and still super warm! Great option for a healthy Thai place!

While this place is confusing, ie Western breakfast + Eastern dinner. Its well worth checking out. they put on good coffees and good food at cheaper than average prices on Chapel street. The only criticism I have is that the kitchen is too small, so best to stay away if your group is larger than 2 unless you don’t mind your meals not coming out all at the same time.

Green Papaya salad with Soft shell Crab. How can it be??? two dishes together in one perfect harmony! Usually I have to settle for one or the other(boo!) the fact that I can have them both in one dish at Ghin Kopi is enough to make me come back! Also found in Ghin Kopi is the gravity defying rounded bottom glass, it spins your drinking water around and around and will freak all your OCD friends. I am also eye-ing the loungey table for 4 for my next visit. taste, tick, entertainment, tick, comfort, tick.

You read it here first folks: I’m going to call my first born Tom Yum. Ahuh, that’s right. So in love with this spicy, sour, soup am I that I would happily scream out to my child in the playground«No! Tom Yum! Please don’t put sticks up your nose!». When I get a hankering for Tom Yum there is little I can do but to hunt one down and consume it immediately. This usually results in a burnt tongue, as it did at Ghin Kopi, but good god, the flavours in a good one just cannot be beat. The Tom Yum at Ghin Kopi was excellent — the broth was superbly balanced and I was happy I’d ordered the large bowl for dinner. I got mine with chicken(Tom Yum Gai), which honestly wasn’t the best chicken floating in soup I’ve ever had but was good nonetheless. Next time, I’ll be going for the original — prawn bits and all.
