Forgot to take pics this time around, but, WOW!, what a shop!!! Beautiful glass display cases of a variety of delectable ice creams, pastries, cakes and muffins, and an assortment of designer chocolate candies and tidbits. A marvelous place to pop into after dinner, esp. on a warm day. I ordered a two-scoop cup of the chili chocolate and milk chocolate ice cream in a cup($ 7.45). The chili chocolate was dark and cinammon-y, with the heat of chili hitting the back of your throat, combined with the rich milk chocolate – like a melted milk chocolate candy bar – I was in chocolate nirvana! I can’t wait to return!!!

I cannot comment on the dine in selection. I popped in here to buy chocolate on my holiday. And it still held up a few weeks later when I finally devoured the chocolate box. I still also have some cubitos which were so good as samples(smooth bite sized morsels of chocolately goodness that melt in your mouth) that I am saving for the multiple rainy days I will need a chocolate boost. As for the truffle selection I’d recommend the following; chocolate de coco, trufa negro(yay vodka), dulce de leche, avellana de amor(hazelnutty), and the café con leche.

My housemate keeps dragging me here telling me that this place has the best coffee in Windsor. Not useful seeing I am having a coffee sabbatical. Even when the store is completely empty, it seems that my tea always takes 10 minutes to make… Plus the teapots they use are dirty, the tea leaves they use are weak and when you try and pour a cup of tea, the water goes everywhere!

We all know that life is tough but for every problem in life — there is chocolate! Okay that sounds ridiculous but yet so true. I don’t know about you but I am a self-confessed chocoholic. I don’t have to indulge everyday but I do have to have some chocolate at staggered moments during the week. And when I seriously need a real fix, I head straight to San Churro in Windsor. The first thing I order is a scoop of their death-defying(read: very addictive) dark chocolate ice cream. This soon follows with an order of Churros with dark and milk chocolate dip.(You’re given a choice of two) And as I sit there and dip away, everything around me fades. For a quiet moment, nothing else matters except for the delicious chocolate enveloping the cinnamon flavoured fried doughnut sticks — which incidentally reminds me of my wonderful adventures in Spain — where these delicious chocolate churros originate. It’s not quite the same thing but it’s close enough.

San Churro’s is probably the most well known chocolateria in Melbourne with a few scattered around the city. You have to go there just to get a hot chocolate. I have to use the worst saying but… its to DIEFOR! The big problem, if you have a sweet tooth like me, is that you feel sick after trying all the yummy foods. I can’t say no and I end up leaving with a sore stomach. Maybe it’s just the sugar talking, but my eyes light up there where it’s always friendly and good fun. There’s a lot of character at these cafes where that Spanish spice gives it that extra buzz you need. The coffee is also very decadent and rivals some of the bigger cafes on the street. For those sweet-toothed people, it’s a must!
