I just bought some Captain Morgans. Remember how that use to be more bogan than a tallboy of Woodstock? And then there was, like, a spiced rum revolution or something and now suddenly its cool again. Which means that I’m cool by association. Bam. Yeah, this place is owned by the big conglomerates but show me a person that doesn’t like cheap booze and I’ll show you someone who doesn’t drink. The wines are a few bucks cheaper than other chains, meaning you can pick yoself up a schweet little cleanskin on top of the rest of your haul. There’s a super expensive wine room on one side that I’ve never seen anyone in because who comes to Dan Murphy’s to buy expensive wines?

Great wine selection. Knowledgable staff. Good prices. And the store is clean. What else is relevant to know about a liquor store(bottle shop)?

Since Dan Murphy’s entered the scene a couple years ago I have noticed a lot of local bottle shops have closed their doors. Now, Dan Murphy’s is a chain, but it is a chain worth knowing about. Prices here are unbelievable — you can stock up on just about everything for what seems like wholesale prices. Aside from this, Dan Murphy’s staff are incredibly helpful. They really know their stuff, particularly about wines which is surprising for a discount liquor store. They also have instore tasting. It is like you get all the bells and whistles you would get in a smaller bottle shop without the mark ups. For any occasion that is BYO alcohol then a stop at Dan Murphy’s is the way forward.
