Walk a mile in my bowling shoes. Looking for an innocent and fun night out? THIS was the highlight of my week and without a hangover the next day! We bustled into Cross Road Bowls with the enthusiasm of young children at… well, a bowling alley I suppose and the inner child was not disappointed! We were first asked at the counter our names so that they could be entered in the scoring system and my bowling buddy, without hesitation, claims himself to be ‘Madog’ why ‘Madog’ came straight to this private school boys mind, I don’t know. A bad boy alter ego possibly? After ripping through three games with an interlude of hot dogs and hot chips, we then retired to the arcade games for the best fun an adult can have. Highlight of the night: Madog and I decided to take a turn on each other’s score cards. I got one pin and he bowled his first strike. Thanks for the extra points Madog! Hotdogs, air hockey and the highly amusing hire shoes, what more could you ask for? All I needed was Ed Stevens to come out and ask if I needed any legal advice! Wait … am I the only one who remembers that TV Show? ANYWAY it added some fun to a dreary winter work week. Thursday nights at Cross Roads Bowls is only $ 15 bucks for three games which I thought was not bad for a few hours of entertainment or completely embarrassing yourself if your bowling skills are anything like mine. It took me back to a day when I was young the world had just begun and I was happy. Good times… no, no great times.
