Best eggs Benny in West End! Only problem is the table set up. Not a huge fan of eating so close to strangers who watch you eat and listen in to conversation. Great juices — apple and ginger juice never disappoints

We had a great breakfast here this morning. Nice, friendly service and cool art on the wall.

Nice Sunday breakfast here this morning. Big breakky menu; I had eggs benedict with haloumi. Yummm. The house made beans were to die for. Good coffee too. Not bad west end experience.

Not being a huge fan of eating precariously close to other dining companions I usually avoid going to tempo. Situated smack bang on boundary this place gets absolutely packed in the mornings. …However on the rare days when I am up early or am chaperoning some friends around westend I find Tempo to be a quaint and relaxing pitstop. The service is friendly and prompt and I can’t go past the breakfasts they have on offer. Fresh poached eggs, grilled haloumi or blueberry pancakes these guys have it all. (I am also a huge devotee to their delicious, light and fluffy Gluten free bread.) Ideal for people watching or for catching up with friends I highly recommend checking Tempo out.

I feel that Tempo is the often forgotten or overlooked café of West End. The Vulture– Boundary Street intersection is home to lots of cafes with cult followings, and so I feel that a lot of people pass Tempo without realising what they’re missing out on. The alfresco area is a great place to dine as it allows for people watching, and for you to enjoy the breeze(it gets quite hot inside). What I really like about Tempo is their breakfast menu. It features some interesting combinations of flavours, and provides diners with something a little more adventurous than your classic bacon and egg brekky. My favourite is the poached eggs with chorizo, asparagus, basil and tomato on olive sourdough. The coffee is of the usual excellent standard that you’ll find in most cafes in West End. If you’ve got a sweet tooth, do look at the dessert/cake menu. Again, you’ll find some wild concoctions that are a treat, both to look at and to eat. The service is really friendly, they exhibit local art on their walls, it’s usually not too packed, and I honestly have to say it has one of the best breakfast menus in West End. Next time you’re looking for breakfast, don’t go to your usual. Try something different. Go to Tempo.

I often come here early on a weekday as it secures me a seat and a quick coffee. I am always served within minutes of entering and greeted with a smile. Usually there is decent music playing here and during those times its rarely too crowded — just how I like it. Local artist’s display their work on the wall and the setting is understated and simple. I would like to say I have sampled many items on their menu and although I have only eaten here for breakfast It has been hard to look past my favorite option, the vege big breaky. It consists of avocado, haloumi, home-made beans, a couple of poached eggs and a few beautiful big field mushrooms YUM! I hate the parking situation in West-End but driving around for 10minutes isn’t too much of a hassle considering what I am usually looking forward to, a simple, speedy all-day breakfast that always puts a smile on my dial.

Slowly wandering through West End one day, a couple of friends and I struggled to pick a spot for lunch. We were all in the rather strange position of being hungry but having no cravings for any type of cuisine. This led to many utterings of ‘what about this place?’ and ‘It’s too hot for hot food’ before we eventually settled on the Tempo Café, where they had a broad enough menu that we were all sure to find something. The menu didn’t have an extraordinary number of options, but I was quite excited by the fact that breakfast was still available — surely within the two menus I would find something to tempt my taste buds. I eventually decided on their fancy version of a BLT, choosing to go with the interesting option of haloumi instead of bacon. The food took a noticeably long time to arrive in front of us and while my meal was fresh and tasty, I’m not in any great hurry to return. That said the menu was full of intriguing items that may lead me to reconsider, a lot of café staples with a twist. One of my friends ordered the nachos, which looked absolutely delicious and possibly a little healthier than normal thanks in large part to the unusual looking tortilla chips.
