Gorgeous staff and amazing meals. I absolutely love this place and will be coming back. I had the lamb bruschetta. The lamb was cooked perfectly and pulled off the bone. There were cherry tomatoes & rocket too and a herb dressing. It was divine. The tea I had was made from real tea leaves and was terrific. Love it. I’ll be back soon!

Very impressed with the cute little suburban joint, tucked in between masses of townhouse developments on Herdsman Parade. Not only is it a tidy café, with super fast table service, but it doubles as a Provedore and catering joint. Some of the pantry items include Brookfarm products, really interesting array of Italian products including some hard to find aged Balsamics(we’re talking 15 years old — it’s dark red gold people) and some of the trendy organics such as chocolate, ancient grain thingies, coconut everythings(non-dairy) and some hot, hot sauces. They provide hampers for all occasions and have a ready supply of boxed, heat at home meals. There’s a range of cakes, slices and GF options, all made right there. I spied the honey cake and was tempted, before my good conscience gave me a swift uppercut and an incredulous«are you SERIOUS???» following my consumption of a delightful eggy breakfast today. So I’ll have to go back for that another day and leave that goody two shoes at home. Small number of on-site parking spots and also side street kerbside parking which tends to have the advantage of shade. See my tip and photo for the ability to text ahead your order and the sensible ‘codes’ for coffee types so you don’t have to type all the words out. Good thinking.

This is my local and I’m so glad it is! Great coffee– especially when Marie makes it!- served by friendly staff. Wide variety of food to have in or take away with some good ‘grocery’ and gift items for sale as well. Parking is a pain for people coming from out of the walkable area, and it gets quite busy on weekends, but it’s worth parking further away and getting a bit of a walk in as well.

Long lunch, mini adventure! Firstly that means spending approximately half an hour on Unilocal flicking through reviews of restaurants in close proximity. The ingredient tree kept popping out as one of those cheeky little spots that is in a funny location. It was 40odd degrees C, so I had to struggle against my natural instinct to head to the beach side cafes. And I’m glad I did! The only downside, as a single diner I felt bad about taking a whole table so I opted for the bigger share table with the awful stools. Ugh! Hate them. But moving on… I ordered the sweet corn pancake and a fruity green smoothie from the very delightful waitress who seemed to have a real personality without making you feel like you were chatting to an answering machine. The wait for my lunch was extraordinarily long. My smoothie arrived quickly and for a stinking hot summer’s day it was perfect and it did make the wait for food not so frustrating. Lunch arrived… omg!!! Wow. Sweet Corn packed pancake topped with smoked salmon a perfectly poached egg and mascarpone. My frustrating wait completely forgiven! This kind of food needs time to cook perfectly and whoever works in that kitchen loves their job! My last little piece of joy as I left was the 10% discount for a first check in on the Unilocal app. I will totally be back!

They are always super friendly and helpful! Quick and attentive staff makes coming here from brunch a pleasant experience. Even when they are busy it’s never a long wait for a table as they have little slide out shelves that can be made into tables! It doesn’t matter what time or day we arrive the food is always delicious and well presented Huge range of drinks means that you sent just stuck with a boring tea or orange juice from a bottle

Good for breakfast and brunch. The Ingredient Tree is one of those interesting coffee shops where they stock odd, often local, products. Food is on the more expensive side, specially given the simplicity of the dishes, but it’s good and so is the coffee. Though there are few parking spots on premise, it intersects with a street where there is plenty of parking available. The atmosphere is pleasant, though for some reason it gives a sense of busyness.

Everything about this place is sensational. How is this not getting more exposure on the local Perth instagram foodie accounts? Service was brilliant! Food was amazing and coffee lovely! Could not recommend highly enough!!!

Don’t let the average location and poor parking situation put you off this place! If you are dairy-free /gluten-free /sugar-free/vegan or any other kind of ‘unable-to-eat-normal-food’ person, this is a great place to stop by. Then again, if you aren’t any of the above, you can still order normal dairy-filled, gluten-filled delicious food! They offer a varied and exciting menu — perfect for a breakfast/lunch catch up with a friend. Fresh juices, caffeine-free coffee, matcha lattes, dairy-free smoothies are just a few of the fabulous beverages on offer — I’m trawling my way with gusto through the various combinations. You can buy gluten-free goodies here too, including pastas, sauces, jams, flour and chocolate. One of my local faves!

Right where you didn’t expect it, pops up a coffee shop and café that is so conveniently located! Love the coffees there and I’ve not had a bad meal there before, but I have been quite disappointed on some occasions. I once ordered a take away bacon and egg sandwich(on gluten free bread) which cost me $ 17 !! No, it didn’t have any gold flakes or diamonds in it, just two rashers of bacon, an egg and two thick slices of sandwich. And when I complained? The owner told me that they didn’t want people like me in their café. Quite rude to be honest, On a positive note!!! Excellent staff!!! They are always very energetic, ready to help with a smile and the retail section is fantastic! I love going for a browse and getting a few gourmet gifts for the family. The barista knows exactly how I like my cuppa and it does brighten my day when I visit, you feel like an important part of their day even when they are super busy.

Love that this place is my local! Really enjoyed my lamb bruschetta recently & the carrot fritters– both excellent! Coffee is great too, only criticism is that the milky coffees could be a little hotter as they cool too quickly when sipping over a meal or chatting. Oh yeah, thanks for using bonsoy! The best!

Location might seem unusual(there’s not much else around this area) but it’s a perfect stop if you’re on the way to Lake Monger for a run. The staff are awesome — friendly, approachable, genuine — and they stock really interesting health food items you wouldn’t find anywhere else(organic matcha powder, anyone?). I haven’t tested out their menu yet, but I look forward to a brunch date here sometime soon to support this independent, local spot. Especially as they seem to have more than just your standard coffee and cake — hello kombucha and Rawsome desserts!

I’ve been here off and on over the past year. It’s never managed to really win me over but their coffee is consistently good and it’s close to work. The staff is generally friendly, though sometimes have no idea what’s going on it seems like. They’re best when they aren’t busy, but you could say that about a lot of places. If you want a decent meal with decent service then go here. But there are definitely nicer places in the area with better coffee.

Working at the wrong end of Osborne Park means I have very limited options when I forget to bring my lunch to work. Ingredient Tree is close by and although it is not a ‘cheap’ take-away option, it is a good treat. I ordered the quinoa patties and I had a lot of green eyed monsters staring at me when I brought them back to my desk. They came with beautifully poached eggs and a tangy tomato relish, exactly what I needed to perk up my mundane Monday. After hearing about the abrupt staff, I was pleasantly surprised when the person serving me just didn’t stop talking, almost awkwardly. They were all very nice and there was a positive vibe coming from those sitting down. The cake options are placed right under your nose and it takes everything to veer away from them, especially when they have free samples. I have never bought any of their retail food items as I find these items will always be overpriced unless bought in bulk. I will be back and I have a particular slice of cake in mind for when I do.

Just after a CxWorx and BodyAttack class back to back, the boy and I decided to head to Ingredient Tree for brunch. Quite similar to Pimlott & Strand, Ingredient Tree is not only a café. Ingredient Tree is also a one stop shop for sourcing your ingredients. Again, feel free to have a browse after having breakfast or lunch at the café. Oh, and they do sell Ben and Jerry’s Ice Cream too!(I think Ingredient Tree was one of the first stores in Perth to stock Ben and Jerry’s actually) I had the French Toast($ 17) which was served with seasonal fruit compote and crème fraîche. I love French Toast, so it was not hard to make up my mind on what to order. But I must say, the menu at Ingredient Tree looks good. The French Toast was very light and fluffy, which complements the fruit compote and crème fraîche well. A sweet start to the day. My boy had the Salmon & Witlof($ 19) which consists of smoked salmon, grilled witlof, poached eggs, lemon and dill butter sauce with fresh picked herbs, served with toasted sourdough. Here is his review of the dish: The presentation was as good as it gets and overall the dish was nice with each little bit complimenting each other well. The poached eggs were cook perfectly, and it always puts a smile on your face when you watch it explode and drip all over the dish. The salt and lemon infused«sprouts» were a nice touch to finish the dish. Overall, I enjoyed eating the dish. We went to Ingredient Tree just before the peak lunch hour. During the weekdays, it can actually get busy during lunchtimes which shows how popular Ingredient Tree is, although it is in the middle of the Wembley suburb. For all those coffee lovers out there, I hear they serve good coffee. Another plus is that Ingredient Tree also serves all day breakfast too! Considering how near it is to where I live, I will definitely be back to Ingredient Tree again.

One of the best breakfasts in the area but it needs a bit more room. Take out some of the supplies & have more tables or room to move.

Having not left myself enough time this morning before work I stopped by The Ingredient Tree to pick up my breakfast, lunch and morning coffee. They don’t serve hazelnut lattes, so I settled for a soy chai latte instead which was ok, but it wasn’t what I was in the mood for so I wasn’t too excited about it. What I did get excited about was the store itself and their food menu. When I was given my takeaway cup of muesli, yoghurt, fruit and chia seeds I was a little dubious as it was not full, but the size of the cup misled me and it was definitely enough — actually I only ate it all because it tasted so good, but after three quarters I was full For lunch I picked up a quinoa salad with rocket, capsicum, feta and honey mustard dressing, which I have enough left over for lunch tomorrow as well — winning! I love the décor of the store too and all the goodies sold there — gourmet oils, drinking chocolate and tasty treats including some great organic snacks. It’s a little cramped around the service area but I don’t mind — I like having so much to look at while waiting. There are tables inside to enjoy breakfast or lunch, and a couple outside to take in a bit of sun. Will definitely come back here when I need a lunch away from the office.

They have a lot of nice stuff in here. Coffee is good. They use Genovese coffee which I like. I generally don’t have a problem getting a park out the front. I haven’t tried the food so can’t comment. As mentioned by another reviewer, the staff can be a bit abrupt. I wouldn’t use the word rude but when they get your order wrong and start a discussion about what you said versus what they heard it is a little frustrating. I’m sure between us we can sort it out!

I’m guilty of the«I’m never going back there again» statement and promptly returning. After saying this about five times, that’s it for The Ingredient Tree and me. It’s a shame, because the food is delicious, it’s got a cute café/grocer concept and it’s just down the road, but I can’t handle the consistently disappointing service from the man and woman who run the place. I’ll miss the breakfast bagels.

This is a great little café. Have been here a few times and haven’t been disappointed yet. The coffee is great, the staff are friendly and the food is simple but full of flavour. Highly recommend the potato rosti with bacon, poached egg, spinach and mushrooms for brekkie, or one of the great pies if you’re stopping by for lunch. Salads are fresh, and there’s always a different selection of cakes and biscuits to tempt you too. They have a small range of boutique-style smallgoods like olive oils, seasonings and some more obscure items like sprouted green wheat crackers, but i would stick with the drinks and eats on the menu, most of the gear for sale is pretty pricey and i have seen identical items priced cheaper elsewhere. All in all a great little spot that’s sure to please the taste buds!

A cosy little store on herdsman parade is what you will find when you enter the ingredient tree. If you avoid the notoriously busy cafes in Leedy then this is your place. After having a look at all the goodies within the shop I ordered a late and banana bread. After a short wait the fluffy bread arrived with a side of whipped butter. The bread was light and had a overtone of the banana coming through, I just wish it was a little more man sized! I will be coming back for a crack at lunch and hopefully cement a permanent favourite.
