I’m from New Zealand where fish and chips is basically the cheapest food you can buy so I was a little surprised by the cost but my parents informed me that it’s normal for Perth so I can’t really blame this place for having prices expected of its locale. Because of my chosen diet I could have chips and chips alone but these were good so I don’t consider that a negative.

Great«traditional» fish and chips. Crunchy chips and a standard collection of Snapper, Whiting, Red Emperor, Flake and Hake. Standard extras: dim sims, chikos, squid rings etc. Efficient but not great service. Not exactly cheap but not overly expensive. It’s our local chippy, and we’re pretty happy with it.

My wife and I were in Perth visiting family, who have been in Perth for over 30 years. We asked them to take us to the best fish and chips place. It is a hobby of ours to compare fish and chips from London to Boston to San Francisco. So naturally, we wanted to see how Perth’s best stacked up. Captain Peters is take-out only. Despite the lack of seating, the fish was great. The batter is not deep fried too long, so it was not glistening with oil which makes it less guilty to enjoy. The chips were okay. The deep fried pineapple rings were the best surprise. Overall it is a respectable fish and chips with fast service.

Great fish, average chips. This is a take out only fish and chips and they have it ready quickly. Free tartar and tomato sauce, although the tartar sauce is not the best. I would recommend having some at home to dip your fish in!
