Yum! We decided to give this place a go on Saturday morning and all 4 of us agreed it was a great choice. This place is next to the post office on Cambridge st, and set back from the sidewalk, so easy to miss. The place wasn’t busy, we had great service, with the chef coming out to check on our meals(I like this, it shows a bit of care). I had the hangover breaky wrap which is really big, easily shareable between two people. Others had the avo scramble, eggs on toast and bacon and egg bagel, all plates were clean at the end of the meal! Coffee was nice too. This is a pretty small place so I think it could get crowded on a busy day, but if it’s sunny, there are also seats outside.

This place has opened and reopened a couple of times. I finally went in a few weeks ago to try out a coffee. The menu looked good even if a little pricey compared to other places around Wembley. I ordered a large coffee which was $ 6.50 for a flat white. The coffee was okay — would I go back in a hurry, no not really. The service seemed a little slow.

We brunch at the newly opened«Mamas and Papas Place» one Sunday morning. It’s just about opposite the Wembley Hotel on Cambridge Street. We receive a warm welcome as we walk into the teeny-tiny coffee shop. The family owned café focuses on healthy home-made food and good quality tea and coffee. First we go to sit in the outdoor courtyard, but its a little hot already, so we retreat inside to sit by the air conditioning and giant dog mural. I order a freshly squeezed apple juice for little chef, along with an equally fresh mixed berry muffin. He loves the chunks of fruit in it and scoffs it in no time. I order a latte for myself. Here they use the Karvan coffee roast, which is local and good quality. To eat, I choose off the specials board There is also freshly made salads, Panini’s etc in the chiller cabinet. I have the«Avo Obsession»($ 16.50). An avocado and fetta mash on bread of your choosing(I chose grain), with roasted mushrooms and poached eggs. I always hope and pray for runny poached eggs — there’s nothing better than a bit of #eggporn and something to dunk your bread into. Both eggs were spot on and the brekkie as a whole was tasty and filling. If your out and about in Wembley Mama’s and Papa’s Place is a good spot for a coffee and bit to eat — especially if you’re trying to be healthy!

This little number on Cambridge street was a pleasant surprise. We walked in with a couple of friends on a Saturday for lunch and found a table out the back under the shade of a couple of sails. We were greeted with warm smiles and a look at some of their pre-made rolls and such in the display cabinet. I was told about this place before and how good the coffee is so I had to have an espresso and it didn’t disappoint. On to the menu, they have an all day breakfast menu available and it’s quite extensive for such a small café. I went on to the lunch menu and couldn’t pass up the road trip burger. The lean beef burger was tasty and the soft bun allowed me to bite through without making a murder scene like I usually do. It came with the option of sweet potato chips, normal chips or salad; I love sweet potato and opted for those. A dollop of aioli and coleslaw made this a serious meal that I was quite content with. Other friends had poached eggs on toast with a thick foundation of avocado and feta mix. When it’s made with sour dough bread and fresh avocado, it’s hard to go wrong. The poached egg was cooked perfectly too which is sometimes a feat itself. The service was friendly and the alfresco dining was joyful especially on a sunny day like today. I will certainly go back, to see where they go from here as I am told they only opened less than a month ago.
