My wife and I arrived at Little Green for a late breakfast. We felt like supporting ‘the little guy’ rather than The Coffee Club next door. We asked for two servings of their ‘Eggs and Spinach on Toast’. The cashier charged us for just one. I suppose we could’ve been dishonest and just paid for one, but we’re not dishonest. We ordered two. So we questioned the cost, thinking that perhaps they’d only end up bringing out one meal. So to ensure we were going to be served two meals, we queried it and eventually paid the extra cash. The waiter brought out two plates of eggs on toast. No spinach. My wife asked, «Aren’t these supposed to have spinach on them?». The waited said, «No, they aren’t». «But the menu says, ‘Eggs and Spinach on Toast’ «, replied my wife. The waiter said he would check with the chef. Eventually he brought out two small plates of spinach for us to put onto our toast with the eggs. The toast was soggy and the whole meal was quite bland. But the coffee was quite nice. I’ll give them that. There were no smiles, no apologies and no attempts from any staff members to be friendly or to make our experience more pleasant. They looked like they hated their jobs to begin with, and then sadly had a couple of very unsatisfied customers share that misery with them for the entire visit. Having worked in customer service, I fully understand how horrible it is to work in such an environment, but I always at least pretended to be happy for the customers. I have also served some very mean and abusive customers, and we certainly weren’t mean or abusive to them. But there really was a mutual feeling of, «This is an unpleasant place» from both staff and customers at Little Green. I’m usually very easy to please. Most of my reviews are quite positive. But I’m afraid this dining experience was a bit disappointing. By the way — The Breakfast menu as I write this(January 2016) is completely different from the photographed menu provided here on Unilocal, which was taken in 2013.

I love Little Green! Very cute and tucked away next to Coles. I love that there is personality in this café, with pictures of the chef and his family. Super nice and friendly, fast service, good coffee and very reasonably priced, well presented and delish food!

Little Green is a quaint little café located on Logan Road in Upper Mount Gravatt, not an area renowned for its skill with the coffee machine. Little Green bucks that trend, and wow, they do it well. I’ve been a regular visitor ever since I moved to the area, and haven’t had a bad coffee yet. I haven’t even had a good coffee yet; they’ve all been great, fantastic coffees. Heavy and rich in body, with bitter zing at the end of every sip. I always find myself scraping the cup to get every last drop of froth. The barista definitely knows what she is doing. Little Green’s food menu isn’t overly large, mainly pre-made wraps and baguettes, and these have always proved fresh and tasty. And like all good cafes they do a wonderful bacon and eggs. Little Green is well worth a visit, a bright spot in an area that suffers from a quality café famine.
