Beach House Bar & Grill Garden City

Love the Beachhouse refurbishments & relaxing outlook upstairs along with the $ 6 Dune champagne enjoyed with eye fillet steak & green pepper sauce, Caesar salad & potatoes — but my friend was looking for the rest of his Snapper — they say a picture speaks a thousand words (& this is his meal untouched) so I’ll say no more.

I ordered the lifesaver chicken, The thin pieces of chicken were dry and flavourless along with the «mustard» sauce, which was more like eating cluggy paste with no flavour. On the bright side my fiancé ordered the Maroochy works burger and was pleased with his meal!

What the hell happened to this place?
Stopped in today for lunch with the wife and boy and left wishing we’d just kept walking and found somewhere else. The girl taking our meal orders was rude and seemed like she’d rather be somewhere else. When the food came out my «medium» steak was well overdone (I’d hate to see what medium-​well or well done looks like) and the salad that came with it looked like it was straight out of a packet.
My wife ordered fish and veggies, the fish was average and the veggies looked like they’d been microwaved.
Im not normally picky, and I don’t expect fine dining from a place like this, but for almost $ 70 for two adults and a child’s meal, I expect better than that.

Look — it’s not much, either in terms of expense or experience. But you get what you pay for. If you could compare dollars spent to experience, I’d say this place would break even.
Order the steak — yep, it’s a steak. Not burgeoning with flavour, but it’s still cooked right and is worth whatever I paid for it.
Nothing against the place — but not the biggest fan either.

I wasn’t expecting much when I paid a visit to Beach House Bar & Grill mainly because the thought of a good pub amongst a family friendly environment such as Garden City Shopping Centre seemed far-​fetched. It’s set up like a café, with open-​area dining, rather than your cliched pub-​with-​bar-​stools look.
Beers are quite cheap, schooners starting at around $ 4.50, but if you’re in for the long stay I recommend their «Super Jugs» — almost 2 litres of beer for around $ 15.
The menu is typical of most pubs, offering flame-​grill steaks, burgers, schnitzels and a few types of pasta. Lighter meals start at $ 14, with steaks starting at $ 24. I found these prices on the cheaper end of the scale in comparison to other local establishments, with not much difference in the quality of food.
They host functions in the upstairs nightclub, which is also open «irregularly» according to the staff. Good to know.

The Beach House is a great bar and grill in the outside courtyard area of Garden City shopping centre. I always have loved a relaxed bar with good beers and great grilled food. I am glad to report The Beach House provides all of the above. Any time of the day is good to head down particularly if you or loved one is prone to the all weekend shopping spree and your feet can’t take it anymore. Refresh yourself with a good lunch and a nice cold beer.
I would however suggest that if you were to plan an all day shopping spree, that you start off at the Beach House because to my amazement they have 5 dollar breakfast. Yes you red correctly 5 dollars for bacon, sausages and eggs and in my opinion for 5 dollars I have so far not found a better breakfast for that price. The service is also quite quick as far as I can tell and the staff is friendly. The rest of the menu is also quite god value for money so even if you miss the breakfast deal, be sure to check it out at some point.
