Cool shop décor, loved it. Not very busy on a nice weekend afternoon. Staff were very friendly. Coffee was beautiful, loved it. BUT… We were here as we were really curious about«chef’s imagination for seasonal produces». What can I say, huge disappointment. Presentation 10/10, quality and taste, um… Don’t even know where to start. Pork belly with mash potatoes and purée. Pork was hard to cut. The skin wasn’t crispy at all and it stuck on my teeth. 1⁄3 of my pork was horrible fat. I couldn’t taste the freshness of the meat. My friends dish was lack of flavour, didn’t even finish half of the dish. Some of the nuts on the dish were stale. Dear chef, please taste your imagination before you serve them. So regret our decision of trying something new. Should stick with their breakfast menu.

Finally, the big divide between KW and Unley Rd. was breached. Now, read carefully and do as I do. Blitz through the entrance, grab a menu on the fly, smile and wink at the staff and speedily grab a table in the backyard. Be mindful of the moving shade. Do not just pick something from the first page of the menu without turning it over. Yes, the fritters are tempting, but think there is more on the back(I was hungry, ok?). Oh, bring a book, or a newspaper. No need to talk… just breathe, sip and munch… Food is good, fritters were a tad greasy but did the job. Coffee was friendly and staff were hot. Wait, the other way around. Price is on the high side(~$ 26 for 2 coffees and the fritters), but as long as you leave in a good state of mind, this therapy is well worth it.

ALDINGABRANCH. Twice we have tried this out, and we expect teething troubles… BUT… Promised kids size shakes and charged for adults size. Told chai was made without sweetener but it turns out to be sweet(honey infused) and the sausage paddy in my breaky, barely cooked. This on top of having to ask first for a menu, then for water, then having meals delivered, BUTNOCUTLERY!!! Sat with meals getting cold for 5 minutes while staff member tried to find cutlery… Found us two sets(for three people). Aldinga is a great setting, but you guys need to up your game here!!!

I needed a place to study and eat this morning and after a bit of Unilocal searching for inspiration, I ended up at Rosey’s. I’ve never been before but I had heard good things so I was excited to try it out. I easy was able to take a window table looking out onto Unley Road but I know there’s a super cool courtyard out the back with additional seating. The atmosphere is very cool with suspended liquor bottles form the ceiling, an eclectic collection of chairs, and great background music. The staff were friendly and I soon had water on my table and an offer of coffee(Yay! A little bit of café table service). I asked for an Earl Grey tea and out come a lovely large mug. However, they do use Twining’s tea bags and I really think that it would be that bit nicer(and I would be prepared to pay that bit more) for a leaf tea. I’m not a teabag snob but tea is not that labour intensive and a leaf tea goes a long way when you’re at a nice, little café. That being said the coffee of other patrons looked great so I don’t think they need to work so much in that area. I stayed with just my tea whilst I worked away and then made the executive decision to order something to eat. I decided to go with the zucchini fritters, poached eggs with a side of bacon and home made tomato relish(the GF option). The tomato relish was to die for(seriously, so good), and the two eggs were lovely(one was slightly better than the other though), the zucchini fritters were made with besan(chickpea) flour the waitress informed me and the flavour was good(great with the tomato). Bacon was good overall, one piece slightly over done but no harm at all to m overall enjoyment. Will absolutely be back to Rosey’s but unfortunately having to drop one star for tea quality.

I just adore Rosey’s! Where should I even start… the staff? They are so freaking friendly! They always make me feel welcome(even when they’re the only café within a 5 km radius of the CBD open in the week leading up to Christmas, and therefore flat chat). The café was full, so they took our coffee orders while we sat on the benches outside(CAFES — PLEASETAKENOTE! THISISAPPRECIATEDANDRESULTSINMORECOFFEESBEINGPURCHASED!). It didn’t take long for a table to become available, and we made our way to the outdoor seating area. This café is just so damn funky. Beautiful Smeg fridge, wine bottles hung artfully from the roof over the wooden-topped counter, red bricks outside in the beer garden, where tables are surrounded by an eclectic mixture of chairs. The sun was streaming through the trees overhead, and, as dogs are allowed, a little white puppy wagged his little tail into our hearts. It was just so pleasant. The coffee was delicious — I had two — and the food was so fresh, flavoursome and tasty. It was the perfect amount of food for a fair price. We left satisfied, happy, and caffeinated.

What a quirky fun little café! Walking in was very inviting and funky — albeit small. But after a venture to the bathroom through the outdoor area — it’s a lot bigger than you think! The service was good, talking us through the menu. However our food did take an age to come out but when it did it was worth it. Fresh colorful food, delicious!!! Would definitely recommend a visit to this tucked away little gem!

Rosey, if you read this, I’m sorry. It’s not about you, really it’s not. I’ve met you and I think you’re a real sweetheart. I used to love your little cosy foodie hideaway and always boasted to people on your behalf that it was«Seriously underrated. Soooo much better than Mother’s Milk.» It’s just that recently, I’ve been pretty let down. On a not-so-busy lunchtime recently, I was looking for a quick bite to eat whilst I met a friend. I asked the waitress as I went in if you’d be able to get me fed and watered within the hour as I had to be back at work and was told this would be «No problem, of course!» Hurrah! I knew what I wanted so sat down and ordered with military precision and supersonic speed and was SO excited for my poached eggs and fritters. As I sat waiting and chatting, I noticed that there were no staff to be seen, and that the chefs in the kitchen were standing around having a good ol’ chinwag — one of the risks of having the kitchen in view of the courtyard. 15 minutes went by and I was still waiting for my caffeine fix, but there was no one to ask about it. 35 minutes in and I finally got my coffee, but was still waiting on my food. «Yeah, alright, it shouldn’t be too long» was the surly response when I asked after my food. 50 minutes and I was ready to up and leave — I was on a time limit and was getting more than a little fed-up! Just as I got up, my cold, soggy fritters and over-poached eggs arrived. I scoffed the disappointing mush and made bolted back to work whilst my friend paid our surprisingly hefty bill(considering the poor quality and non-existent service). Or at least she tried to! When she went up to the counter, staff were(again) just standing around having a chat(despite the many customers sitting and waiting patiently outside just as I had done). They acknowledged her presence with a glance and continued their conversation until she actually butted in and asked them if they would like her to pay, or whether she should just leave. Rolled eyes and a disgruntled«Well yeah, you should probably pay» sum up what was a very disappointing experience and one I won’t be coming back for any time soon. So you see Rosey, it really isn’t about you. It’s about cold coffee, overcooked mushy food and the absence of any form of customer service. Simples.

Great breakfast or lunch location to catch up with friends. Simple menu, not too overwhelming, but with something for everyone especially with the all day breakfast. Great coffee, & secluded courtyard with puppy access via a pedestrian walkway off Unley road.

Another review that I am loathe to post, simply for the fact that other people will go and I might not be able to get a table! When you first enter Rosey’s you may think you’re not going to get a table as it’s quite a small area. But head on past the counter and to the courtyard — this is the place to be! Service is fast and very friendly, and the staff were very happy to talk through menu items and provide recommendations. They are also very happy to help with ‘menu maths’ to make sure you get exactly what you want for the best price — they helped us work out if it was better to order the scrambled eggs and add avocado or the avocado mash and add eggs! The food itself — absolutely delicious. My favourite thing to get here is breakfast, and I’ve never been even slightly disappointed with anything that has arrived at my table. I LOVE the avocado mash dish but everything is gold. Aside from the food, what I love about this place most of all are its little quirky touches — every time I visit I notice some other little touch in the décor! I love the butcher knife door handle and the TV aquarium… and my housemate and I have lost sleep trying to figure out how to set up some similar alcohol rigging in our own home! A great place for Sunday brunch and several coffees :)

I like Rosey’s! From its quirky décor to its great food and friendly service… definitely recommended, especially for breakfast. With many breakfast options popping up all over Adelaide, Rosey’s is up there with the best!

SATURDAYBREAKFASTAND A LOVEOFBULLDOGCLIPS Those with kids will understand that it is hard to take your kids to restaurants, they are constantly wanting to run around, and not sit there and enjoy the great food we are offering them. Today we got lucky! and we had a perfect little angel :) After many great reviews, and a hunger for something new for a Saturday breakfast we decided on Rosey’s, and I wasn’t let down. As you walk in to Rosey’s you may think you are in for another small, tightly packed café, but it’s not until you make your way past the counter to the courtyard that you will be surprised that this little café is a hidden gem. After spending some time, trying to decide from the delicious choices on the menu, I selected the poached eggs on Mylor toasted rye, with a side of quark and three fruit jam. and I have to say that this was amazing, the sweetness of the jam with the savory made the dish. The décor was eclectic, but fitted well. I loved the use of bulldog clips to hold the spirits above the bar, and the subtle touch of using a fork and spoon as the handles for the outdoor heaters. The courtyard is the place to sit though, it could be a little loud at times, but there is nothing better than sitting outside for breakfast on a warm summers day. Overall, I feel that Rosey’s lives up to its hype, and I will be back. :)

My Friend and I stumbled upon Rosey’s after turning up to A Mother’s Milk on a Saturday Morning being jam packed, we decided to keep walking up Unley Road until we found a place with tables free… a few doors up we found Rosey’s! When we walked in there were plenty of tables, but quickly filled by the time we go our coffees. The service was friendly! Loved the atmosphere and the décor! Coffee was yum! And my breakfast of Zucchini fritters with Poached Eggs and Salmon was delicious and beautifully presented(see picture) Rosey’s all in all was a great find, will definitely be heading back to try other things on the menu :-)

First of all I love Rosey’s quirky décor of hanging liquor bottles, artwork, a tv fish bowl, and a butcher’s knife door handle. First time you open it, it will put you off :) It reminds me of some Melbourne cafes. Love it. We need more like this in Adelaide. The outside area is very accomodating on a rainy day, which it was when I went. The food is very tasty. I had the mushroom sandwich. I love how the seasoning is put around the outside of the plate so you can choose how much you want to add. The staff are quite friendly and cheeky at times. Would love to come back here.

Went to Rosey’s Place in Unley for breakfast today-our first visit. We were greeted & seated as soon as we entered. We had made reservations for 9 am(opening time on Sunday) and by 10 am they were full-up. Just after being seated, we were asked for our coffee order – and it was served FAST! The coffee itself was full-bodied and flavorful, without an acid after-bite. It made for a luscious latte. We had ample opportunity to order whenever we were ready, but without feeling rushed at all. When we did order, we got juices(choice of orange or pineapple-freshly made and not overly sweetened), the Huevos Rancheros and an order of poached eggs on toast with a side order of smashed avocado(a house specialty available in a variety of combinations). The food was served promptly, well prepared and tasted scrumptious. Portions were ample, without being stupid-large. The menu also offer a full brekkie vegetarian-style – an unusual offering in bacon-for-breakfast-crazy-Adelaide. After eating, we relaxed over a second coffee and felt no pressure to move on. We were outside in the patio area, and can only describe our visit as the first of many more to come. Rosey’s is highly recommended. Eat, drink and be merry-but not too much. JD

Rosey’s is a delightful breakfast/lunch venue that prides itself on all things fresh and organic. On a cold Winter’s day recently it hit exactly the right spot with Rosey herself making our party of 3 feel particularly welcome with friendly, fast and efficient service. We all selected the soup of the day as it was perfect soup weather and none of us were disappointed. Pumpkin soup can be very ho hum but this was the best I have ever tasted — the top notes of horseradish(thanks to a dollop of horseradish cream garnish) and the subtle zing of ginger lightened a soup that can often be stodgy and boring. Served with a piece of scrumptious sough dour toast we relished every mouthful. Finishing with a chocolate muffin to share between 3, Rosey generously threw an extra one in. The muffins were light and moreish and the coffee was perfect. Attracting a very diverse crowd but still quiet enough for a chatty girls’ lunch, I highly recommend Rosey’s. A healthy, flavoursome and interesting menu with some gourmet touches elevates it well above most of the other lunch cafes on Unley. PS I absolutely adore the Parisian influence in the outdoor courtyard of red fleecy blankets for every table to keep the cold out!

Apart from the obviously great food on offer at Rosey’s, I love their seating options. There’s both a fantastic inside space and you can literally sit in the front window of the shop and watch the world pass by. And they have a brilliant outside courtyard area that just screams, please sit here for an hour or so, have a coffee and relax. Even though Rosey’s has only been in situ for a relatively short time, I’ve noticed it is getting harder to get a table as word catches on and it grows in popularity. Love the coffee too Rosey … well done on a great local business.

Rosey’s has only been open since October 2011 but the people of Adelaide are catching on! The café has replaced Serves you Right at 139 Unley Road and is serving all organic, local light meals. These guys love breakfast and their menu seems to be mostly of this nature with a few lunch specials up on butchers paper daily. Today I ate the BLT, an open sandwich on rye with mayo, fresh slices of tomato, steiny’s mettwurst bacon and dressed rocket, YUUUUUMMMMBO. I loved that the staff were so smiley relaxed and friendly, that’s pretty much my favourite and is definitely a prerequisite for a breakfast joint! You’ve got to at least try and start it off well. There is a bunch of original artwork by local artists on the wall which is funky and interesting which skips the cringe factor. Pancakes and scrambled tofu are offered, as well as muesli or eggs any which way with heaps of sides available. The coffee was great and you can even get freshly squeezed OJ. I am absolutely hanging to go back and sample the amazing looking tarts and huuuuge brownies, nom, nom, nom.
