Stumbled upon this nice and cozy French café this morning. What a pleasant surprise! I give it a 4.5 :) Food: 5 — Tried an authentic croque monseiur. It’s basically a ham and cheese sandwich, but boy oh boy it was probably one of the best ham and cheese sandwiches I’ve had in a while. The sauce they used was magical and the cheese was delish :) — Banana muffin was great too. Not too pricey for such a good quality muffin! Drinks: 4.5 — They use Toby’s estate coffee– a really decent quality coffee. Great set up and loved the extra chocolate sprinkles on top. Service: 4 — French servers! They were friendly and they did their jobs well. Atmosphere: 4.5 — Nice little brunch set up. Comfortable and soothing music. Ideal place to be at in the morning to just relax, do some reading, and chill with friends. Space was also big enough to host group gatherings. Misc: 4.5 — Nice location(located on a street that’s not too busy and hectic, but still in the city). A little pricey, but for the quality of food we got, it was totally worth it. Highly recommend this café! I would totally come back again for more :)

Dim, and industrial looking but quite cosy. Decent music usually. The coffees are fairly small in serving size but are strong enough to put hair on your chest. Food is sandwiches, patisseries, etc. Staff are friendly. The prices are okay for the inner city. It can get crowded, so choose your moment to go.

Go here if you want to feel as if you’re in Paris in terms of the overhyped food and snipey French waitress. The baguette I got here was dry and a mish-mash of unusual flavours and it was the worst ice chocolate I’d ever had.

This is a popular Ultimo café with a serious French theme going on. They even have cranky French waitresses(de temps en temps) who argue with their boss. Kudos to that. The coffee is strong and bitter, not really my style but some like it that way. Le Depot have Francofile food, featuring: crepes, reasonably convincing croissants, quiches, macarons, and so forth. This place gets really packed out at lunchtime, and clearly has a devoted clientele of people who work in the area. They also do catering. They use Golden Cobra coffee.

This fantastic little French café is my favorite recent discovery. Le Depot is situated in Ultimo, close to the Ian Thorpe Aquatic Centre. Unfortunately for me, I was late in joining the bandwagon of people that love this place. It is always crowded! Perhaps it is just too small, but that just adds to the charm of this place. The atmosphere can be described as slightly industrial, yet it is dim and cozy as well. The café is furnished with small tables and chairs and a bar and with high stools. They have a great selection of French on-the-go snacks like baguette sandwiches, a variety of quiches, and some pastries. All the food here is reasonably priced, something I really appreciate since similar places in Sydney seem to love overcharging for French food. Aside from making amazing coffee, this place has consistently provided me with satisfying lunches. Try a baguette($ 7.50) that comes with different fillings. I really recommend the croque monsieur or the lamb baguettes. Le Depot also makes savory crepes. For some on-the-go indulgence, definitely take home some of their pastries or croissants. The almond croissant was top-notch(around $ 4).

Across the road from the ABC in Ultimo on Harris Street you can discover the cute local French café «Le Depot». Well known to the locals in the area, Le Depot has a wonderful collection of café style French foods ranging from Baguettes to Quiches, Tarts to Macaroons. Dishes range from $ 3.50 for a pain au chocolat to their more expensive Salads costing $ 12.50. Their food is always fresh, with baked goods cooked on the premises. I find their food to be simply delicious. My favourite is the Salmon Baguette — it’s the crème friache that makes it excellent. The café has a wonderful atmosphere and its always a pleasure to eat there. Whilst I pretty much love everything on menu, the only dissapointment is the coffee… it’s probably worth having one of their delicious frappes instead. I’d highly recommend Le Depot of a lunchtime rendevous.
