Coffees are ok, Service was average, the waitress’ were all short, surly and frowning.

Dolci does have some good points. It is a casual café style joint prominantly positioned at the entrance to the Mitcham shopping centre. The movie meal deal tends to be pretty good value and they do have a huge range on their menu. Customers are required to order at the counter but the coffee is pretty average and I prefer not to grab it here, although they do have a large range of bought in cakes and sweets that are of a reasonable quality. It tends towards being fairly expensive and to be honest I visit more often out of convenience than anything else. Occasionally I have hit on a real winner on the menu and although pricey, their salads are excellent.

Although there is some decent competition by other cafes within the main complex here, Dolci is probably my favourite café at Mitcham Shopping Centre. Its pleasing décor and large setting is further enjoyed with large windows looking out onto… the Cheap as Chips car park. Don’t worry, it’s better than it sounds! I usually just come here for coffees, milkshakes and smoothies, and usually before seeing a movie with friends. I would really recommend coming here for coffee if you are a local, or alternatively in the area. It’s just a good place to enjoy such treats. Unfortunately I am yet to dine here, and very eager to hear what others think of the food. Otherwise having a meal here is definitely on the agenda in the near future.

I’m a little suspect of cafes that appear to bank on the captured market of cinema goers. Dolci’s makes an decent effort though, even if it is a little over-priced. It’s located in the south eastern corner of the Mitcham Shopping Centre, directly under the Wallis Cinemas. It has a modern fit out in blue tones and floor to ceiling glass panels curve the corner of the café(see photo) allowing natural light to flood the space. The menu is extensive — a large, double-sided laminated sheet offers pastas, risottos, pizza, a good range of salads and plenty of sweet treats for after your meal. You order your food and drink at the counter and meals are delivered to your table. The service is fairly prompt, but I’ve got the impression the young staff can’t wait for their shift to finish. Coffee is good and I sometimes grab a takeaway from here if Mooi’s(café in the middle of the Mitcham Shopping Centre) is closed.(Soy milk is Vitasoy Café) They also do a movie meal deal which is well priced.
