One of my favorite places to go for authentic Indian. They offer a tasting menu which includes small serves of butter chicken, prawn curry, beef korma and tikka masala. Surprisingly, the prawn curry was the best and I would order the full size next time. The restaurant is really warm and welcoming. Staff are friendly and food is good quality.

The banquets they offer are of good value — and are served quickly. Its a bit weird that you have to be ‘in and out’ if you order certain tables(5+ people) so if the staff(over the phone) tell you this when you book — take it or leave it. The staff are ok, nothing to write home about.

Awesome food in a cute little building across from The Gully hotel.

Got 4 banquets for takeaway and they forgot the rice. Didn’t apologise once and made it sound like it was our fault for not checking. When we asked for the manager they put the phone down and left it there forever hoping we would go away. I don’t care it was busy get some basic customer service. As for the food the chicken tikka was ok but after waiting for my own rice to cook everything else seemed flat. The spices have been dumbed down and didn’t seem close to authentic. It was mentioned to me that the chefs are actually Malaysian not indian.

I love Ruby Raja! Sometimes when you love something a lot, thats all you want to say. But located just at the base of the Adelaide Hills on Perseverance Road, Tea Tree Gully in a beautiful old stone house, Ruby Raja is one of the best Indian places in Adelaide. Period. The most popular dish and my favourite is the Thali Curry plate — a mix of butter chicken, Beef Korma, Ruby Prawns, Chicken Tikka, Rice & Naan bread for $ 23.50 — you get to taste the best of everything, with the sides and they always let you change what dishes you want as part of the plate. So so tasty, so so delicious! I also think you should try the Mango Lasse, it is creamy and spice quenching — but I’m not your mum, whatever. Its cold outside, what about a jumper? They do dine in and take away and the interior is incredibly atmospheric and beautiful. They are very aware of Gluten Free requirements and staff will do everything to accommodate your requests and requirements and they’re always on top of drink refills. This place is always busy — and for good reason! Great for groups, catchups and romantic dinners. Also great for a lazy take away if you live close enough! Do it, I say.
