Old Highercombe Hotel Folk Museum

The hardworking National Trust of South Australia Tea Tree Gully Branch volunteers who run this museum are warm, friendly and very knowledgeable.
My partner and I learned from them the volunteers the museum served as a hotel, community meeting room, post office, school room, post office, headteacher’s residence and a private home, a library and even a council office.
This place really was the hub of Tea Tree Gully and much of the furniture, working equipment and outside stables date from bygone eras of the building.
Although the museum recognises the building’s first guise in its name, a volunteer told us it was a post office for more years than it was a pub — from 1879 until 1963.
If you are in the area it is worth dropping in — and it is only four bucks per adult, $ 3 for concessions, $ 2 for kids or $ 10 per family.

The museum offers tours to groups and schools.
WEDDINGS
Weddings can also be held in the grounds.
