Waltzed in and decided to try the Bird and Brie Burger… I’m not one to normally be easily offended, but when a staff member laughs at me for no apparent reason while ordering, it tends to ‘get my goat’. The burger was fine. The chips were fine. The service was quite honestly downright disgusting. I understand the financial perspective of a business hiring young people to work due to wage costs… but I don’t understand hiring young people who have no social skills and are outright rude. There are so many great young kids out there who are willing to work and willing to understand customer service. I’m giving a score of 3.0 because the food wasn’t bad. EEE— I WONTBERETURNING

Hands done some of the best burgers I have ever eaten, the meat is juicy, the bread nice and crisp and the toppings are amazing. My favourites are the Zen Hen and the Baa Baa Burger and the chips are just fantastic super thick and flavoured well. It’s a great location too, right near the train station and supermarket it’s an easy to get to joint, staff are always friendly and relaxed even when it’s busy and do their best to give you great service. It’s a bit pricey but a great treat when I have the twenty bucks for a full meal, which will get a regular chips and burger and a drink.

One thing I like about Grill’d is the consistency between each of the restaurants. The burgers are just as juicy and the chips just as crunchy at each location. As for the«healthy» claim, I’m not so convinced. Granted, they appear to choose healthier ingredients than your run-of-the-mill fast food joint, but for the price you pay you should expect this level of quality. I had the crispy bacon and cheese. North Americans may scoff at this as the bacon is not as crispy as they’d expect, but we Aussies seem to like a bit of juiciness in our bacon. Great burger and convenient location, though expect to pay around $ 20 for burger, chips and soft drink. Alcoholic options are available.

Gourmet burger joints are pretty standard now, There’s a Jus across the road and a couple of pubs nearby that you could get an obnoxiously topped burger at. The reality created by this fact is that a burger place now needs to do more than just put brie with chicken or supply spicy jalapenos, they need to appeal to my inner alcoholic and help old ladies cross the street. Grill’d do all of these things. On purchasing a burger you are rewarded with a bottle cap which you put into one of three jars, each of which is allocated a charity. Democracy prevails and whoever has the most caps at the end of a month gets $ 300 and the other two get $ 100each. This is a really cool quirk, and whilst it may not make you want to buy a burger every day, it may sway your burger venue vote next time.

I’m a big Grill’d fan. I will always opt for Grill’d over other fancy burger joints. The Subiaco store is well located and there is plenty of seating available inside and out. My burger of choice is the Simply Grill’d(with cheese). The beef and salads are great but it’s really the sauces/relishes that make these burgers. Great chips with herb salt and I always go for the herb-packed mayo.

An easy, thrifty and convenient way to grab a quick meal in the heart of Subiaco. I love the rosemary spiced chips and the summer sunset burger which includes a juicy slice of pineapple. Grass fed beef is important to me and they serve it at Grill’d.

They have an excellent range of burgers for all dietary requirements. Last visit I wasn’t happy that they toasted my bun(without asking or indication it was happening) and it literally fell apart whilst I was eating it. But I asked them to change it and it was fixed quick smart! Love that they’re licensed! Chunky chips and aioli is always a winner in my books :)

Grill’d is the second best burger joint in Perth only behind it’s older competition Jus Burgers. Asking someone if they prefer Grill’d or Jus Burgers is like bringing up religion or politics in conversation… it is just something you don’t do. This is a debate that can ruin friendships, divide family and send nations to war but all I can advise is that you try both… whatever you do… try both! Grill’d is marketed as a healthy type of burger and I’m not sure how true this is but it gives me great joy in believing that I’m doing the right thing with out really questioning it. The burgers are extremely tasty with different breads on offer. I’ve tried pretty much everything on the menu but it is a given that if I’m going to go to Grill’d I’m going to get one thing and one thing only and that’s the Wild West burger. Grill’d is quite amazing!

I have quite a few friends that are vegetarians or have celiacs. In Perth this has made eating out more than a little problematic. Places like Grill’d have made life so much easier. They have 3 tasty vegetarian options and have gluten free bread available for only an extra $ 1.50. Kudos to you for that Grill’d. I am not a big burger fan. I don’t like the burgers at Maccas or HJs, so I was really impressed with the burgers at Grill’d. These are not the dripping with fat, over processed burgers you get at your local takeaway. These are gourmet burgers. The range of options are awesome. I had the Baa Baa burger and was impressed with the flavour combination of lamb and the relish. The service was great, we ordered and our large group all had their food within 15 minutes. Everyone was happy with their burgers and absolutely stuffed. These burgers are not small and they can not be eaten delicately no matter what you do.

So the battle of the burgers begins. On the right corner(literally), we have Jus Burgers. And just across the road to the left(literally), we have Grill’d. There is no general consensus on which place offers the better burger, but I will pull on my own gloves and give my own two cents(even as a measly vegetarian). Grill’d Subiaco was delicious, their vegetarian burger was very juicy. I know it seems weird to say a veg burger can be juicy, but I had the nicely named«field of dreams» which was full of mushroom goodness. Their chips are also far superior to Jus Burger’s(prior to trying Grill’d, I thought Jus Burger was awesome minus the average chips). Jus Burger staff are also a little more careless and nonchalant than the careful and attentive ones at Grill’d. Ok, I’ll stop comparing now. But the battle of the burgers has been won by… Grill’d!

I went here for a friend’s birthday lunch a few weeks ago. It was a beautiful sunny day, and the scent of burgers drew us towards this trendy eatery. Everyone loves a good burger, and Grill’d’s promise of healthiness makes them all the more appealing, so there was no disagreement amongst us after this was suggested. Once inside, we sat at a long, rustic log of a table just by the door and perused the menu. It was hard to decide — there is a good range of burgers, from the traditional to the more exotic. For me it was a toss-up between The Kung Fu Fighter burger and the Moroccan lamb — but in the end the Kung Fu Fighter won(as they tend to do). It was tasty, succulent beef, and the coriander gave it a delicious kick(I am in love with coriander). My friend had the lamb burger though, and I was a bit jealous — it looked amazing. The staff are chilled out and jokey, making the place seem more relaxed than you’d expect from its exterior. Another good thing is that you get a token with your meal which you can choose to donate to one of several charities. At the end of the month, the charity with the most tokens gets a big chunk of cash monies from Grill’d — how very nice of them. For such fresh, tasty burgers the prices are very reasonable, and I’d definitely go again.

I don’t know if it was the amazing typography on their menus or the promise of a gluten-free meal that led me to this holy grail of bun-based goodness. Either way, Grill’d is the kind of burger joint that I wouldn’t be ashamed to take my mum too. Want to get your burger fix without getting the stink eye from health-conscious types? Grill’d’s burgers have got the tick of approval, and they got it without ruining the humble burger’s reputation as a quick and easy meal. These gourmet burgers have got street cred and have done a great job of completely bypassing the wanky stigma some food groups get in the name of upmarket hospitality. What is good depends on what you feel like — chicken or 100% lean beef patty burgers if you’re feeling unadventurous, grilled lamb patties for those feeling indulgent, vegie burgers for the green freaks like me, steak sandwiches and mini burgers too if you’re really not that hungry. Because they’re made to order they’re always amazingly fresh. Their vegie patties are AWESOME, followed closely by the grilled mushrooms that make an appearance on the Field of Dreams burger. My only gripe is that the burgers don’t come with chips and salad, which is fairly blasphemous in the name of all things fast food. Burger+chips+salad = perfect lunch time. Guess I can’t complain when they have the cheapest gluten free buns around?
