Only open recently, this is a family owned and run café. The café is hidden from the main hustle and bustle of Fiitzroy Street but easy to find nonetheless. It provides a quiet ambience to read the paper, have a meeting etc. Tables inside and outside. It is right near a tram stop with a window where you can order take away coffees. Giancarlo is charming and works at the café every day as the barista and server. His fiancé Michelle makes fresh almond milk and breakfast bars every morning. The almond milk is fantastic. Mild taste and doesn’t split in the coffee. She also bakes a deliciously moist cake with the almond meal from the milk. They also serve ‘First Press’ cold pressed coffee here which is a great alternative if on the go. There is currently a ‘loyalty’ wall for regulars where after 5 or so coffees next to your name you receive a free one. There are a couple of choices for coffee and Giancarlo certainly knows how to use the coffee machine. Each cup is served with a complimentary Italian almond biscotti. The prices are great compared to other cafes in the area. It is cash only currently not accepting credit/debit cards. Parking is available on the streets nearby or in the IGA parking lot.

I happened upon this place while I was waiting for the tram number 96 to come by. This café is definitely in the perfect location to get tram business. I wasn’t too impressed with the coffee considering in the area there’s a lot better but I have to admit that the breakfast bars are absolutely amazing! They are packed lots of yummy goodness and they taste quite good as well. It would be hard to find if you were just on Fitzroy St, so just head on down to the St Kilda Lightrail Station and pop up onto the platform for the 96 heading into the city, walk down a bit and you’ll see a little hidden café. It’s definitely not too busy though so at least you can get a coffee in a hurry before hopping on the tram!
